Let’s cut the other one loose and stick this one. Feel free to discuss anything soccer related both here and around the world.

dunno whoever thought this idea was a good one: https://www.frontrowsoccer.com/2020...rt-nycfc-to-play-ccl-match-at-red-bull-arena/
Put this couple in charge of LA Gals or NYRB. https://bleacherreport.com/articles...piazza-wife-bankrupted-an-italian-soccer-club
I have been allocated two tickets for the Euro, Italy vs Switzerland and Italy vs Wales, through the UEFA draft. I had applied for all 3 Italy games in the group stage, but Italy vs Turkey is also the tournament opener and I guess there was too much request for that. 50 Euro each ticket, in the goalstands. Two things I didn't like: 1) tickets are going to be the f...ing mobile tickets, like in MLS, although for an extra 15 Euro I was able to order a "souvenir ticket" which will be mailed out to me after he end of the tournament. 2) both games are at Rome's Olimpico stadium, which is one of the shittiest stadia in serie A, it's really far out from the field and you can't really see very well, I wish Italy had proposed San Siro instead, but I guess with Rome being the capital this was the most predictable choice. But this is all about the experience, at 52 this will be my first ever Euro live (I saw 4 WC games in 1990) so it works for me.
I really don't like this new wave of MLS shirts for the upcoming season, especially the 3 stripes on the right shoulder. I only save a couple of them, and unfortunately I have to say the second jersey of NYRB is one of the best, if not the best. I really think it's time for MLS to get out of the collective contract and give the choice to each individual team when it expires in 2024.
I have some Reggiana friends in Italy, they were so pissed off when that happened... unfortunately serie C is like a jungle, there are plenty of wannabe team owners that grab a club and then let it go in the mud, without even paying for what they did. The only ones who pay are the fans who see their team relegated in some way low division, and have to restart from scrap all over again.
I was thinking along those lines 2 yrs ago when mobile tickets were announced. People complained, but I could see why DC United decided to start right away ahead of the rest of the league. New stadium: New ticket policy. And its the wave of the future. All in all, it was a better move to be ahead of the wave instead of behind it. Best of luck at the Euro.
The question is, will they play there only this CCL game? What happens if they advance? I was reading that in that case they will play at Yankees Stadium (or Mets) but why aren't they playing there now then? For sure there is no baseball game going on at either stadium...
If the baseball stadiums are off the table, playing at RBA makes the most sense. Surely beats having to go play in Connecticut or something stupid like that.
Does it? There's traveling, then there's traveling to your hated rival's stadium and giving them money. On the other hand it's a chance to piss all over parts of that stadium you are normally not allowed into, which may be some sort of mild concession. I hope the place is covered in NYCFC stickers at the very least - I've stuck Christian Gomez stickers in the place but then they only let me into select parts of it - never got to slap one on the window of a fancy suite or on a prime season ticket holder seat.
In a single entity league, does it really matter if you give your rival money? I know the stadiums are owned independent of MLS but at the end of the day the rivalry is manufactured and the teams are business partners.
The owners are business partners - if the teams also are then everyone should stop spending time and money watching because that's only slightly away from fixed final scores.
Looks like Najar is coming back but to LAFC. They need a RB and he’s younger than Beita. Breaking: a reporter from Belgium has told me that Andy Najar is on his way to #LAFC this would be a great signing for them and help them even more to win @TheChampions pic.twitter.com/ukYSpqJ42w— MLS Moves (@MLSMoves) February 10, 2020
