Last game vs the Revs, the Union barely made it out of Foxboro with a win, and they beat DC in a wild game yesterday. With Blake and Martinez out, I think this is going to be a difficult game (especially if Bendik plays!).

My head says draw, 2-2. Toronto beat RBNY and win the shield.

I don't want this to happen. It just feels like what will happen.

My heart says that hopefully with Monteiro and Martínez back in the starting 11 and bossing possession, Bendik doesn't get tested and they can smother NE to an easy win.

    This.

If the Union want to shake the perception that they can't win when it matters, they need to come out and ********ing CURB STOMP New England and take the Shield.

Glorious day for a soccer match with so much on the line. Weird season all around but the Union currently sit top of the table with a chance for hardware. Have to go to a (outdoor) 60th birthday party this afternoon so can't go to/watch the game. Not sure if I'll be able to avoid peeking at the score and watch it on DVR. No other soccer people in my bubble so I look forward to coming back here later today so I can share the joy/misery.

Well the PSP crowd will be happy...Matt Freese gets the start in goal today:

Martinez is back oin the middle, and Gaddis starts on the right as well. Squad is at full strength!!!

No, NEVER will root for Red Bull New York. RB Salzburg, yes, but NEVER RBNY.

Also, a Union win takes care of the doubt and everything....dare I say, all the marbles.

Soooo....2-0 RBNY.....trying to hand us the Shield

Union should have had a PK, Bedoya lucky to escape a yellow card.

That no-call on the penalty should embarrass MLS. Ridiculous.

Union up 1-0, looking dominate. Toronto down 2-0 to Red Bull.

    I mean...what can I say?

The entire team came out and almost tracked Ray. Brujo is on his knees crying uncontrollably. Just awesome. Holy crap, they did it!

The only thing bad about this....we all couldn't be there.

Imagine how amazing that stadium would have been today with a full house

The Philadelphia Union. Supporters Shield Champions. I've been saying for 11 years they're the best team in MLS. Facts are Facts. Shame it happened this year where most of us can't be there. Now on to the playoffs. #DOOP

My wife and I were there and I REALLY wish that place had been able to be full. What an awesome time to be a Union fan.

Fantastic achievement. I always thought the first trophy would be an open cup. Never did I imagine my team would have the best regular season record. Going deep into the playoffs would cap it off great.

I just want to congratulate the club on winning its first hardware. I didn’t get to watch the match until this evening on DVR, but it felt very sweet. How many times have we seen Philly teams in similar situations come up short or back their way into accomplishments? 2-0 is a great way to head into the playoffs.
