That was crazy! 3,403 votes from Dekalb County just came in. Of that total, 3,341 came in for Jon Ossoff. Read that again. Out of 3,403 votes, Perdue garnered 62.
I am going to take the other side of the argument from @soccernutter and say that he gets just outside of the .5, to avoid the recount.
Probably just a timing issue. Perdue and Loeffler actually closed the gap after an earlier dump from DeKalb. From what I understand, they had an issue with the memory chip on one of their counting machines and had to manually sort then count 20k ballots. I’d imagine they just counted the Republican piles first, then counted the Democrats piles.
I've seen every single episode of Knight Rider, so I know David Hasselhoff and that's not David Hasselhoff. This is David Hasselhoff:
Nope. Knight Rider. I've never seen a single episode of Baywatch. One of many cultural touchstones I never saw.
Ossoff now up by .4%. Leading by over 16,000 votes. I guess we are close enough to the .5 threshold that we have to move further past the decimal point. The difference is actually .372% at this moment.
I know she's going to run for governor, but the Dems need to at least offer her the DNC chair. Like, load up a Brinks truck type offer. Her future is kind of interesting. Let's presume she wins the governor's race in 2022. When does she run for president? 2024 is out because she'll be only 2 years into the governorship, and that's a bad look. Plus, if Biden isn't running, Harris surely will, and that's problematic. 2032 seems good. She serves 2 terms as governor and then can devote herself fulltime to running for POTUS. The fascinating thing will be if Harris wins in 2024 and 2028. I'm sure you see where I'm going with this. It'll be interesting to see if America buys into this. That's Jack Scalia!
Yep. He is at .4 now (over 16K votes) and will more than 25,000 absentee and mail-in votes, it is all but guaranteed that Osoff will get over that threshold.
According to Nate Cohn, 55K votes are still out there. Ossoff now ahead by .4 points as the last bit of DeKalb in-person early vote arrives. The absentee ballots--tens of thousands remain, perhaps ~55k by our estimates--will likely put Ossoff over the .5 threshold recount tomorrow— Nate Cohn (@Nate_Cohn) January 6, 2021
Romney was not only harassed at the airport but also in the plane by those scumbags. We warned you these psychotic freaks would turn on republicans once Trump lost. I’m not a Romney fan but he’s done nothing but adhere to his oath, and the MAGA trash does this to him. https://t.co/VowYYSxrvw— Bradley P. Moss (@BradMossEsq) January 6, 2021
What can I say...... This lady is a national treasure. I remember we had that argument here, some calling her selfish for not running for Senate. She made the right call and delivered Ga for Biden and flipped the Senate. Respect! With new votes joining the tally, we are on a strong path. But even while we wait for more, let’s celebrate the extraordinary organizers, volunteers, canvassers & tireless groups that haven’t stopped going since Nov. Across our state, we roared. A few miles to go...but well done!— Stacey Abrams (@staceyabrams) January 6, 2021
Couldn't have said it better Trump blew the Senate majority because the Senate majority blew Trump.— Deskjob (@StuartKatz3) January 6, 2021
Several factors: Loeffler had to win a very bitterly contested "primary" against Mango's preference Collins, who never got fully on board endorsing her after he lost. Loeffler isn't from Georgia and has less personality/charisma than a robot. Perdue has roots in the state and is perceived as a good ole boy, despite his wealth.
On the same day, a Black and a Jew each won Senate seats in Georgia. I don't need to die to go to heaven. I am already there.
That is beyond a dream coming true....I just exchanged texts with one of my Jewish friends, we are delighted. And this guy must be dancing up there....He must be beaming. John Lewis dancing to Happy by Pharrell — on this day — is just what the doctor ordered...https://t.co/4jODqfhPjQ— Rex Chapman🏇🏼 (@RexChapman) January 6, 2021
