I heard on one of the news shows last week (on MSNBC I think) that Republicans think Gardner will be more than competitive in Colorado because his campaign is well-stocked with cash. They did concede that McSally is in more serious trouble in Arizona and Collins is extremely vulnerable in Maine.

All the money in the world cannot save Cory Gardner from the economic depression.

I hope you're right. Would be nice if Cornyn, Graham, and McConnell were given 'red cards' by voters this fall too.

Cory would have lost without economic depression as well. He has been a dead man walking for a while now.

On the wrong side of the trend. As was Mark Kirk in Illinois in 2016 and Claire McCaskill in Missouri in 2018. Sometimes, there's no hope.

Scott Tipton (R-CO) has lost renomination. His district voted 51-43 GOP in 2018. While the odds of the GOP losing this seat are small (PVI R+06), it is the seat that John Salazar won for several election cycles. Democrats can win this seat.

Meanwhile, there continue to be yawning gaps between the number of Republicans retiring or forced out (30) versus Democrats (11) in the race for the House.

Re: Tipton's loss, he was beaten by a QAnon nutter. I think that makes 2 confirmed QAnoners who have been nominated and 1 who led but has a runoff. The GOPs are going to have to either accept them into the fold, or cut them off like GOPs did with David Duke in 1991 (or thereabouts.) When it was 1 they could pretend, when it was 2 they could pretend, but it will be hard with 3, and even harder if they don't take action now and have 10 such nominees in 2022.

If I were Ronna McDaniel, well, first of all, I would have some ********ing pride and restore my maiden name. Second of all, I would ask Cory Gardner what to do. I suspect Cory has a better chance with the national GOPs cutting off the QAnoner Lauren Boebert, because being associated with QAnon is going to hurt with swing voters. OTOH, cutting her off won't help GOP turnout in her district.

Sleep with dogs, wake up with fleas ******** 'em.

I think the RNC needs to cut Cory loose. They have a fighting shot at holding their Senate majority if they triage Arizona and Colorado.

No, clearly they just aren't investing enough in Colorado right now and need to double-down.

McConnell is preparing to be in the minority come 2021. He is starting to lay the groundwork for opposing the Dems altering the filibuster rules. There would be no way he'd do that if there wasn't a pretty good chance that Dems take the Senate.

Yeah Mitch, let's talk about fair play. What do you think about the Senate not confirming a SCOTUS position until after the new administration takes over, should one soon become available?

Yeah, that's what I thought. Bye Mitch.

If a SCOTUS position opens up at any point between now and a potential Biden inauguration, it is almost guaranteed that spot will be filled by a Trump nominee.

Hope the D's don't back off and vote to get rid of the filibuster. F*** Mitch....
Still hoping that McGrath can send him to retirement.

I doubt they'll get rid of it entirely, but rather have a modified version that would prevent the minority from entirely stopping the bill, but allow them to delay it and/or make sure the minority party is heavily involved in the bill making process.

If Mitch says fair is fair and postpones the vote, I will profusely apologize for my premeditated attack on his honor. But sadly, it seems highly unlike that such an apology would ever be required.
