After watching this my first thought was that OK should have it's own thread in P&CE. Imagine my surprise when I found out it already did.
Why is that m'fer in the painting at the very end (standing behind Trump and Reagan) wearing a Toronto Blue Jays hat?
I cannot remember who that is. He is not listed on the "credits" at the end. They should have put the name and where they are from on each clip.
For the life of me, how can anyone with a a functioning brain can even consider voting for this absolute moron? Narrator : 35 % of Americans are morons and not good people! Exchange of the Day President Trump was interviewed by Michael Bender of the Wall Street Journal and Trump, unprompted, raised his slow walk down a ramp at West Point last weekend: TRUMP: But I also, if you think about it, I went to West Point over the weekend, made a very good speech, according to everybody. They said the speech was one of the best. The kids thought it was one of the best they’d ever heard. Stood up there for a long time saluting. Were you there? BENDER: No, but I watched. It looked like a really nice day. TRUMP: Yeah. After the helicopters came over, the hats went up, the general said, Sir, are you ready? I said, I’m ready. And he led me to a ramp that was long and steep and slippery. And I said, I got a problem because I wear, you know, the leather bottom shoes. I can show them to you if you like. Same pair. And you know what I mean, they’re slippery. I like them better than the rubber because they don’t catch. So they’re better for this. But they’re not good for ramps. I said, General, I got a problem here. That ramp is slippery…. So I’m going to go real easy. So I did. And then the last 10 feet I ran down. They always stop it just before I ran, they always stop it. So, I spent three hours between speeches and saluting people and they end up, all they talked about is ramp… If you would have seen this ramp, it was like an ice skating rink. So I’m the only one that can happen. But the church is an interesting thing. I mean, here I spent three hours on stage, the sun pouring in and I saluted 1,106 cadets, and that’s not easy. Even the general said, That’s amazing. Other presidents would never have been able to do it. Because usually they do the first 10. They do 10 honor rolls, and then they go home. I stayed there for hours. And what do I do? I get publicity about walking down a ramp. And does he have Parkinson’s? I don’t think so.
Can't believe someone can be some tone-deaf and stupid. She deserves to lose by the largest margin. A day ahead of Trump’s visit to Arizona, GOP Senator Martha McSally proposes giving taxpayers *$4,000 each* to take a vacation. Couples would get $8,000 in vacation tax credits, plus $500 per kid.— Steven Dennis (@StevenTDennis) June 23, 2020
^^^^^ I read a little more about the bill. First, the vacation has to be at least 50 miles away from your principal residence. Second, it's written in such a way that it advantages people with a 2nd home just for vacations. Because of course it does. Third, only people who pay income tax are eligible...poors, ******** you.
In other words, the "incentive to spend" is actually "a tax cut for the rich." How surprising. Sure she hopes she loses her seat.
I can't never comprehend the level of tone-deafness, not to mention malevolence of those people. Anyway, she will go down in history as having lost 2 senate elections in a row.....
Correct. Everything the Republicans do is for the benefit of the rich.. Hell, if you look at the numbers, it was $8,000 for joint filers and $4,000 for individual filers, plus $500 per kid, so the "standard" family of 4 would get a $9,000 tax credit. In order to take full advantage of the credit, you'd have to make a minimum of $66,200 as a single filer and $78,250 as a joint filer. That assumes you have no other tax credits, of course.
I know Ric Edelmen peripherally, who rips McSally's proposal a new one. The guy is a moderate, maybe even Republican. That's how out there McSally is. She really is bad.
McGrath having a hard time closing up the nomination in Kentucky. Does she need 50%? https://fivethirtyeight.com/feature...are-high-stakes-for-the-progressive-movement/
With less than 1 percent in, a 16 term democrat may be getting primaried by someone backed by justice democrats and workers family party. https://www.politico.com/2020-election/results/new-york/
I think McGrath will lose. Based on what has been reported, it would seem that if Booker can keep it close in rural areas, he will wipe her out in places like Louisville. But maybe I do not know enough about Kentucky.
But aren't many of the polls that were closed in big cities? seems like that would be an advantage for McGrath. We will see.
Yes, but mail-in was a huge factor. I mean, I am spitballing of course, but that is how I am seeing it right now.
I’m glad she has staying power. The Dems need loud progressives like her. When I won in 2018, many dismissed our victory as a “fluke.”Our win was treated as an aberration, or bc my opponent “didn’t try.”So from the start, tonight’s race was important to me.Tonight we are proving that the people’s movement in NY isn’t an accident. It‘s a mandate.— Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) June 24, 2020
Not the 15th district, but the groups were divided in this one, progressives picked Lopez, black caucus picked Blake, Latino caucus picked Torres. But the anti-abortion homophobic democrat in in 3rd place, so that is good. https://fivethirtyeight.com/feature...are-high-stakes-for-the-progressive-movement/
