Hold up @It's called FOOTBALL , you got it all wrong - I hope LAFC win tonight. ...so that they get their hopes up right before we give them that Kansas City treatment in Leg 2
LAFC hasn't named one single excuse like the rest of the shitty MLS. They win or they lose, no excuses in between.
This sucks. jared, Paul, me and that NY guy were always the biggest CCL fanboys since the tourney started. Thru all its ups and downs, we still stanned heavy, even when games were in bootleg Caribbean stadiums, or Rod Carew Stadium, or when the mml would get lucky. We still stuck by it loyally. Man, I hope they finish this even if it's in the summer. Now this, is a black day for football. Anyway, I found some sad, pathetic excuses Atl ************s made last night. Bringing up a meaningless friendly 1237940892343959554 is not a valid tweet id The Simpsons once had a joke where a Shelbyville guy said Springfield is only better because they win more than half the time. mmlers say the same things but unironically. Total morons. We're down major starters: MARTINEZ, ROBINSON, ESCOBAR. We're down 2nd Team CB Wyche. This stadium is 7k ft & in one of the most polluted cities in the world. It's a different game, abhorrent officiating, different rules. These guys are talented but so are we. We beat em for a 🏆.— Bear Ellis (@beare00s) March 12, 2020 Again, the mml is the only league that gets injuries. 1237945885620875266 is not a valid tweet id Now it's trump's fault 1237947970483621888 is not a valid tweet id Scrimmages get competitive too. 1237949412602720256 is not a valid tweet id Accuse someone of cherry picking data while simultaneously cherry picking a meaningless match
GOD knows we would've gotten disqualified if Mexico was affected H1N1 style, that reminds me fck Conmebol
Not true - against the odds, the inaugural CCL finished up in the midst of the H1N1 outbreak. I was studying in Costa Rica at the time, and got excited for two whole days when the local press ran with the out-of-left-field rumor that Conmebol would accept Chivas playing their home game at the Estadio Saprissa. Alas... You're right, but @AMLO2018 accidentally touched upon the actual lowest point in CCL history: that first Final between Atlante and Cruz Azul. No, not because Cruz Azul lost But because the Mexican press (esp. the ESPN guys) were all ready to declare the CCL a dud, DOA, a failure, etc. b/c of the poor crowds for both legs of the Final, conveniently forgetting that the country was still in the middle of an epidemic. Pisses me off to this day
Watch CONCACAF come back and disregard the score aggregates with a one-off winner takes all game for each series.
2009 - Chivas and San Luis made the Copa Libertadores R16, the H1N1 outbreak became an epidemic and Conmebol promptly told them to f--- off (after Costa Rica was shot down as an alternate venue). To be fair, they made up for it by auto-seeding Chivas and San Luis in the 2010 Copa Libertadores R16, from which Chivas made their run to the Final.
