Another loan move completed, Diaby joins Getafe on loan with an option to buy for 5M.

Sounds like Slim is close to joining Lyon, big shame that I’d have loved to see him back

I think its the salary, with JM its a loan and Inter is paying more than half. Leicester are trying to offload Slimani for good and he won't take that huge of a payout.

    Still need a striker desperately.

Apparently Slimani is unlikely to come, he's willing to lower his salary by half but the administration doesn't want to make a financial effort to sign him. Also media insists that Amorim wants Paulinho from Braga and no one else.........

Makes no sense, player willing to cut his salary in half, it's too much for us to sign. But to get a striker from Braga we're willing to leave another 15 million

We're running a charity for Braga with all these overpaid coaches and players we're signing. I still think Slimani can get it done in Portugal. Dude is willing to cut his salary, but let's sign the overpaid 15 mil guy. Definite head scratcher

Official: Sporting CP confirm the sale of Wendel to Zenit St. Petersburg for 20.3 million euros + 4 million euros in objectives based on number of games played and the team's performance. They also confirm that the cost of intermediary fees at 1.78 million.

Personally, a player with a lot of potential, but irregular. Did anyone actually miss him in the last game? For a box-to-box he needs to track back better and when going forward he wasn't that consequential, and slow to make forward passes. We need an attacking midfielder that thinks quickly when going forward. But good luck to him and hope he succeeds.

Maybe in a non-covid year we could get more, but if 24 million gives me Joao Mario and a top striker with money to spare, I'll take that.

Not mad at 20mil for Wendel tbh. Let's see what we can do with it...

The only thing is, similar to last year, he was sold at the very last second. Hopefully with a plant this time

Twitter and media saying negotiations have ended for Paulinho.

Best news of the day IMO. If he were at any other club we could probably get him for 7 or 8 million.

If I had to guess, we're only going to get Joao Mario and that's it. But I don't get this club, bringing Slimani might take a little more effort but you're bringing in a player who not only will give everything, is a proven goalscorer (still scored regularly for Monaco and assisted), and probably the most important for Varandas, would be a player that would unify the fans and win him some points.

They're going to pay for not having a decent striker. Going to come back to haunt them.

My question is, do we not have a scouting department? If we're willing to go 15 million for Paulinho, there's tons of strikers for that price we could get. Geez, even Famalicao got Dyego Souza, he's probably better than what we have.

Miguel Luis on his way to Guimarães definitively, with both Sporting and Guimarães keeping 50% of his rights.

Good luck to him, not good enough for us, hope he plays well and we get money down the road for him.

Sporting have included Rafael Camacho, Tiago Ilori, Bruno Gaspar, Lumor and Bruno Paulista in the league, as well as Ivanildo Fernandes, Diogo Sousa and Gonçalo Costa.

Looks like we haven't been able to find a home for these players. They will likely alternate between the squad and B team.

so 20 million for wendel and no purchases. where's that money going? When will people for varandas out. He clearly doesn't know what he's doing nor has the right people in place to do the job.

I don't know who to believe tbh.

The communications director on Twitter made fun of the rumours about Paulinho, indicating we were never close to bidding that much. But the rumours say otherwise.

Maybe they'll re-offer Paulinho 20 million instead of 15. Braga would accept then
