Senegal, Japan and Nederland. The best of African, Asian and European styles (imo).

USSF lists Senegal on FS1 and the other two on FS2. Senegal also on Telemundo which is SD - reallllly bad - in my area, anyway but the other two are on Universo, if you get that.

Looking forward to this one. I like our roster and manager and will enjoy whatever the outcome.

guys 17 today will be 20 in Qatar. Get the feeling we will see one or two from this group in Qatar.

b.t.w. it was just announced Tab has come to terms with Houston to take over the vacancy there. Seems logical Wicky would move to U20's next with a good showing in Brazil with u17's.

  5. Is there a player you guys like very much as a player in the US team? Someone that stands out from the rest.

    The two most obvious are:
Kobe Hernandez-Foster (#5) - left center back with incredible passing and striking qualities with his left foot.
Gio Reyna - most likely on the left wing. will probably be able to dribble anybody he wants to at this level.

Thanks for the summary. Tough group. Just happy to see the US play some smart attacking soccer.

Gianluca Busio will drive the midfield. He may or may not get help from his other advanced midfield partner. As Busio is able to control the tempo in the attacking half, Danny Leyva has the ability to do the same in the defensive half. His passing is slick, and he has credentials despite his quick rise. Both outside backs are high risk/high reward types with relatively high ceilings. Ricardo Pepi and/or Alfonso Ocampo Chavez are potentially in line for a monster tournament in front of goal.

Maybe the goalie, but the 02’s are a bad age group. I’d be surprised if we get a result against you guys.

*Lack of depth could very well hurt us.
**Defensively, there are fairly big question marks, but I would not expect a lack of goals to be our undoing. As noted, Damian Las is a beast of a shot stopper, so hopefully he can keep goals out.

  11. So it's going to be an interesting attack and defense test for both the USA and the Orange team. Great!

Yes, I do think it will be very interesting. Tactically, I don't think the US will sit back much even if they don't have quite as much talent.

Props to all you guys who follow and support these youth teams. Since the USMNT is not longer watchable and the problems so deep we only have the U teams to care about. Hackworthless did not play soccer with any kind of grace. So now I’m hyped by this new guy and the reviews.
    Go get em boys

I think that's how the YNT forums get a lot of people. During a lull when the MNT looks terrible, people come here.

I started coming on here even more after Cuova.

We've been producing a lot of talented young players these past few years but the coaches have been sh*t.

honestly the most logical banter heuristic outcome for us soccer post couva is for this team to utterly bomb this tournament right before promoting wicky to tabs old job

Can't USSF hire any good foreign coaches?

My god those first few were dire in retrospect...
Who will this group’s three be... Reyna, Pepi, and Kobe would be my guess.
Whatever happened to Luis Gil... Agudelo may have been a NT-level bust but at least he’s playing professional soccer with some regularity...

Aged like fine milk... Not too late to claim this comment was dripping with sarcasm!

What if the GOOD foreign coaches don’t speak English, though?

Like Rafael Wicky who coached Basel to the round of 16 in the Champions League?

Not indicative of a good coach or a coach that would be just as successful, coaching teenagers in a different country.
