PSV has taken over the Japanese playmaker Ritsu Doan for 7.5 million euros from FC Groningen, where the 21-year-old left leg played in the past two years. https://www.ad.nl/transfer-talk/doa...sv~af3c33e3/?referrer=https://www.google.com/
As I said for Nakajima: is this PSV normal approach to a new player or they are emphasising him cuz they think he deserved it/he has a big marketing value?
Nice cameo in the Europa League win over Sporting. Initiated a counterattack in his own half, evading several defenders and eventually nearly scoring on a patented shot cutting inside onto his left foot.
He was lively and impressive, he had a good shot on the Sporting goal, which Sporting GK managed to save for a corner. Very good and promising debut, considering the level of the competition, as Sporting Lisbon is stronger than 75% of the teams Doan will face in the Dutch league on paper.
... and it was a nice goal from a counter-attack he started. He received the ball on the right edge of the penalty box, surged slightly into the middle before curving his shot into the far left-post. Unfortunately for the other Japanese who played for the opposite team in this match, Sai van Wermeskerken, he did not cover up the threat very well, and he mis-marked Doan and left him unmanned with free time to decide how to place his shoot.
Speaking of which do you have any info on what the deal with Nakayama is? For a time it was disclosed that he had a knock but now it's not clear what the issue is. ...oh Nakayama is actually making the bench now.
European/Dutch privacy rules make it illegal to make known medical information of people, which include sports injuries. Only the player, or after he gave permission, can give info on those things.
How is he doing? His stats say he hasn't been involved in goals directly that much (2 goals/3 assists) but his average rating on whoscored is 7.16 which is pretty good and the third best in his team. https://www.whoscored.com/Players/343435/Show/Ritsu-Doan
