05' 0-1 Hatch dribbles from circle back box right, pulling away from Evans not sprinting back, then runs past Boyles tied up marking Thomas up arc right lane. Weatherholt scrambles to direct traffic, Hatch is unimpeded through box top right. Hatch cuts inside past Weatherholt to box top mid-right, shoots left instep bend past Burdett's dive, perfectly into back left edge 1/3 high. That finish, so smooth. @ash_hatch33 puts @WashSpirit in front.0-1 | #ORLvWAS pic.twitter.com/zhdlbXYwzA— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) October 5, 2019 Edmonds reaches 100 caps! Boyles, with head down, hits no-look one-touch backpass toward own arc top left -- directly to McCarty cutting center-to-right. Reid closes as McCarty turns through arc (her) right -- and Thomas sprints toward box top mid-right, accelerating away from Callahan caught flat-footed. Reid slide-pokes ball off McCarty's foot, directly into Thomas's stride through 16m mid-right, to 4m 6-right. Burdett comes across to 2m right post, Thomas shoots right instep low through Burdett's legs, across goal into left bottom pipe and up into roof. 85' 0-3 Feist dinks a short forward pass to McCarty standing unmarked in a seam at arc top 6-left. McCarty looks back at ball, turns alongside and shoots one-touch right instep just over Burdett's fingertips, just under crossbar center. If at first you shoot off fingertips, shoot a little higher What'd you do, Tiffany McCarty?! 😳0-3 | #ORLvWAS pic.twitter.com/Qgee6HMCun— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) October 5, 2019 FT 0-3. 02' 0-1 K.Mewis pulls up at 34m mid-left, lags a perfect through-ball just behind a high defender's heels at 30m, through box top mid-left. Tigres' backline is up at 32m -- except for LCB back at 27m, one mowed stripe behind Ohai sees that gap and is already 3m behind the high RB, receives alone in stride at 11m mid-left. Ohai creeps to 6m 5-left, shoots right instep across mouth past Solís's dive, into right bottom pipe. ‼️ OH CAPTAIN OUR CAPTAIN ‼️#TIGvHOU | #DashOnpic.twitter.com/76qkBhXvUE— Houston Dash (@HoustonDash) October 6, 2019 21' 0-1 Tigres longball to J.Ovalle (yes, that Jacqueline Ovalle) 1-v-1 on Hanson through 25m box left. Ovalle leans shoulders in front, shrugs Hanson off through box top left, to 8m 7-left, shoots left instep blast across mouth. Henninger comes out to 5m 3-left, double-blocks ball down under her left knee, and sits on it with zero rebound. Tigres are sending in a lot of very good crosses, short and fast from low box sides (usually the right). Houston have won all of the headers so far. We don't usually see this kind of air-heavy attack, not even from North Carolina.
42' 0-1 Calderón stumbles after a through-ball (or deflection) down mid-left, loses 1 step to the RCB -- then slides from behind and wraps legs around her feet, trips her down and she somersaults poorly on landing. Ball trickles free to 3m 6-left, Solís dives on ball, Calderón (still lying on back/side) rashly stomps at it, catches Solís in the chest. Foul, yellow card on Calderón, brief stoppage for treatment. HT 0-1.

This time, Privett hop-volleys left instep to left post low, Solís dives and saves again. 80' 1-1 Weirdness: Tigres interrupts this live match in the run of play to bring us ... a singing chorus voice-over upon a spinning 3D Tigres icon No doubt they think we're weird --
82' 1-1 Martinez leads a 4-v-3 through 25m center, taps left to Ovalle at arc tangent left. Ovalle passes to Belen Cruz overlapping through box top mid-left, she goes down to 7m mid-left, cuts inside. Fields overtakes from behind, jams a leg into Cruz's left hamstring, Cruz goes down with ... knee pain? Foul, penal. 83' 2-1 Liliana Mercado pk, slow approach, waits for Campbell to show her direction, right instep scoop into left side netting 1/2 high, as Campbell dove right. Does that Tigres (Monterey UANL) win over Houston shock anyone? Three or four years ago, the folks on wikipedia were arguing whether the Mexican Women's League was worthy of being called a professional league. And now they beat the Houston Dash? Admittedly a Houston Dash that is not at full strength. But still.....
The league didn't exist four years ago? And it started as almost entirely a youth league, so kinda fair in that respect too. Worth pointing out that Houston beat Monterrey last year (even though it was rain-shortened) and a WPSL side demolished the Rayadas a few days before that, so the reversal is a bit surprising in that respect - especially since UANL and Monterrey are essentially the top two teams in the league. Also, I would highly recommend not calling UANL Tigres "Monterrey", since Monterrey (the Rayad@s) is a completely different club and a huge in-metro-area rival to UANL. X-D
Hanson left Ovalle alone near the top of the 18. I think it comes from not knowing your opponent and not being a “career” defender. I doubt she would have left Heath or Kerr out there alone. I’m just a dumb fan and I know Ovalle is as dangerous a threat as any.
