Debinha's FK was classy, but the whistle that led to that FK from the edge of the box was bogus to me. I've got the impression that Debinha tumbled on the ground alone, with no actual foul.
With @TheNCCourage 🆚 @ReignFC going to extra time, @chiredstarsPR 🆚 @ThornsFC will begin on ESPNews and switch to ESPN2 upon the completion of the first semifinal. #NWSLPlayoffs pic.twitter.com/nZH3Qh5hGv— National Women’s Soccer League (@NWSL) October 20, 2019 Loving the replies to this tweet.
In fact it's frankly ridiculous that they didn't consider the chance that the first semifinal could have gone to extra-time. Amateurs use to do way better than that.
No disrespect to Seattle but can you please just switch coverage already ESPN? There's no coming back from 4-1 in 15 minutes.
Maybe I can catch the next five minutes of CHI-POR with a strong pair of binoculars off a reflection of the Aurora Borealis...
Oh yeah, typical fashion Kerr received the ball on the counter and went off to the races confidently hitting it far post
They now had the common sense to show a replay right away as soon as they switched to the CHI-POR match, and it fact Yuki's assist was as perfect as ever!
Missed that: I had to stop watching for some minutes. At which minute did it happen? I'll rewatch it, if possible.
Well, the Nagasato/Kerr connection could have made another goal in injury-time from a great action (Yuki freeing herself from two players along the end-line and sending an assist to the center of the box for a completely free Kerr), but it went off from a deflection. Anyway Chicago Red Stars kept their lead to the end. 1-0 final time and first championship game for Chicago at their fifth attempt. I even nailed the team advancing and the goal difference for the prediction thread. Good Job!
