Group C is interesting, the weakest top seed and perhaps the strongest 2, 3 and 4 available. That could play out any number of different ways. Panama and Honduras are going through a lot of turnover. These being the first competitive matches since 2017 for USMNT, I think they'll be up for the occasion and will not have trouble seeing through any of those group matches. We had little trouble in handling T&T, Honduras and Panama at home.

Panama in the Gold Cup is another story, though. Our record against them this decade:

USA 1-2 Panama (2011 group stage)
    USA 1-0 Panama (2011 semis)
    USA 1-0 Panama (2013 final)
USA 1-1 Panama (2015 group stage)
USA 1-1 Panama (2017 group stage)

I'm excited for this year's Gold Cup to kick off. Questions to be answered:

--Is Canada ready to show signs of improvement in this competition?
--What will the expected re-builds for Honduras and Panama look like?
--Jamaica have pulled off stunners to make it to the last two Gold Cup Finals. Can they manage a 'three-peat'?
--Martinique have a history of playing competitive matches in the Gold Cup. Will that tradition continue?
--Despite going 0-3 and goalless in 2017, Curacao was a fun team to watch. Will they be as enjoyable this time around?
--Will Gold Cup debutantes Bermuda and Guyana be able to hang with teams in their groups, or will they just be 'happy to be here' kind of teams?

Also, does anyone know anything about the broadcast schedule for the Gold Cup this year? I seem to remember Fox, FoxSports 1 and FoxSports 2 carrying all the contests two years ago, but so far, I've seen nothing to indicate which network has the broadcast rights for this year's competition. Thanks in advance for a reply about this.

IIRC FOX signed a multi-year deal with Concacaf, so it should be them and Univisión doing the honors.

Mexico will not have Lozano and will not have a couple other players.
Herrera is skipping due to "physical and mental well-being" issues, (Translated to he does not want to risk injury before a move to Atletico.)
Chicharito is going to have a child born and is also skipping out on the Oro.

I bet CONCACAF head honchos are not too happy.

The Spanish-language broadcast info still needs to be filled out though, right? No way Univisión has two weekend games feat. Mexico and doesn't show either on their main channel or Unimás.

Thanks. I'll update the schedule at some point. I wondered about the Mexico games in particular but I didn't see any other information when I made this list.

It sucks that the tournament overlaps with Copa America.

Although most of the time slots are different there's still some conflicts here and there.

The good news is that this will be the last time that ever happens with the Copa going to even years aligned with the Euros.

I have no rooting interest in Copa America, but the Gold Cup needs all the viewers they can get without fans watching better teams instead. Here are overlaps during the Group Stages with all times USA Eastern:

June 15: Argentina vs. Colombia at 6:00 P.M. and Canada vs. Martinique at 7:30 P.M.
June 16: Haiti vs. Bermuda and Uruguay vs. Ecuador at 6:00 P.M.
June 17: Curacao vs. El Salvador and Japan vs. Chile at 7:00 P.M.
June 18: Brazil vs. Venezuela at 8:30 P.M. overlaps with Panama vs. Trinidad and Tobago at 7:30 P.M. and USA vs. Guyana at 10:00 P.M.
June 19: Cuba vs. Martinique at 8:00 P.M. and Brazil vs. Venezuela at 8:30 P.M.
June 20: Nicaragua vs. Haiti and Uruguay vs. Japan at 7:00 P.M.
June 21: El Salvador vs. Jamaica and Ecuador vs. Chile at 7:00 P.M.
June 24: Bermuda vs. Nicaragua at 6:30 P.M. and Chile vs. Uruguay and Ecuador vs. Japan at 7:00 P.M. (for the third Group Stage games, the Copa America has the two games in the same group at the same time like the World Cup does)

9 of the 24 Gold Cup Group Stage games have overlap. I didn't check the start times for the Knockout Rounds. The Copa America has more afternoon games than the Gold Cup.

It really does suck for someone like me who has rooting interest in both tournaments.

I also like watching the smaller teams in CONCACAF during this tournament but with the Copa overlapping I will be less likely to watch most of those types of matches that do not involve USA.

I am usually all about Tournament expansion but man, those opening matches were hard to watch.

Those Caribbean teams looked like sacrificial lambs going to slaughter in the Rose Bowl.

I dont know how they have a 16 team tournament and somehow Guatemala is not there.

Guatemala is much better than both Cuba and Martinique, and probably all the other 4th placed teams in every other group other than group C.

Maybe some of these teams will improve from this though.

Lets wait and see how Bermuda, Guyana, and Nicaragua do.
