Wow, I had no idea preliminary round for this tournament was scheduled to happen so early! We're in the middle of 2018, and this minnows are already battling for EAFF 2019! Also, why China has to play 2nd round vs its "sub-regions", while Koreas and Japan are already qualified?
yeah, not sure why China isn't in the final round. They finished 3rd in 2017. Maybe since South Korea was awarded hosting the final tournament, China got bumped down.

yes. their first official FIFA international will be tomorrow vs. Guam since the Northern Mariana Islands aren't FIFA members.
It's actually incredible that they managed to come back from 0-2 in first half! And through a set of quite scrappy goals! By the way, did first Mongolian goal actually passed through a hole in the net, after entering the goal? Wouldn't referees be supposed to check at the beginning of the game that the net has no holes?
They'll just get jolted in the next round again China and Chinese Taipei. Probably not so much again Hong Kong.
Round 2 starts tomorrow in Guam. Dec. 1 Mongolia vs. China Chinese Taipei vs. Hong Kong Dec. 3 Mongolia vs. Chinese Taipei Hong Kong vs. China Dec. 5 Mongolia vs. Hong Kong China vs. Chinese Taipei
Teams wrapped up their matches on Day 1 of the EAFF E-1 Football Championship Round 2 Guam, with Chinese Taipei nabbing a 2-0 win over Hong Kong and China PR blanking Mongolia 10-0 ... check out starting 11 photos from today's matches ! pic.twitter.com/9gcUhMr0uI— Guam Football Association (@GuamFootball) December 1, 2018
So, a 2-0 for Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) on day 1 against HK. Hong Kong's coach is Ricardo Rambo, who came fully prepared with excuses from the big book of excuses. And he forgot to mention VAR and how the rankings are rigged. It's 31°C today in Guam, so it's hot, but no hotter than Hong Kong can be. Rambo: excuse me (dltl2010, cc-by-sa) Also from Hong Kong, their player Wai Yuen-Ting has called for improvements in the women's league. HK will play their 2nd game today against China. In China's first game, Wang Shanshan scored 4 goals in the 10-0 win. (Match report / Archived) EAFF has put up a few highlights from TPE 2-0 HK and CHN 10-0 MNG.
Interesting balancing act: with a change of opponent, 4 goals migrated from China to Chinese Taipei... 10 - 4 = 6 and 2 + 4 = 6. One could say that Mongolia brought these goals with them: away from China and to Chinese Taipei.
Let see if the "renegate province" defeats China ! very unlikely by the way. On the other side, Why is this second round played in Guam ?
It was determined before the first round was completed that Guam would host. I guess the AFC assumed Guam would defeat the freshman Mongolia and advance.
Finals dates are on Wikipedia fwiw, either in November, or (with some specific kickoff times) from 10-17 December. The venue is Busan, at the Gudeok Stadium. (WAKA77)
EAFF's finals schedule runs from 10-17 December, playing doubleheaders with the men's tournament games, as they did in 2013 in Seoul. The Busan Asead Stadium will be used for the 2nd and 4th matches. https://eaff.com/news//4085.html (Archived) (by 애콜라이트, cc-by-sa)
