Yes. This thread does exist. Thank you, soccer gods. Out of respect for this week’s Sheep League questions, I held off posting this thread. Discuss. Please make this thread more like last year’s away game thread (hang and me bickering) and less like this 2005 (https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/crew-away-match-roadtrips-2005.179910/) iteration of the same theme. What a snoozefest.
Oh come on. My drive to Columbus is longer than your folks’ away trip to Cincy. It counts. Some of the dates are off the list due to either it probably still being cold or Markus’ rec soccer schedule. I am going to put all my asking points into the July 27th game at RBA (it is near my birthday, so an easier ask). I have never been to that arena. Though, I made it out to the Meadowlands a few times. I would have loved to have seen Audi Field, but it clashes with Markus’ rec soccer schedule. Maybe in a couple years. Same with Minnesota. Furthermore, if Crew get hot this year (and I really hope they do), then that final game at Toronto could be doable. Maybe.
In laws are in MSP plus a new stadium, which looks incredible. And everyone I speak to raves about Montreal.
Do we have to start another poll on whether or not Hamburgler's trip from Chicago to Bridgeview counts as a road trip?
I was going to make a similar comment. Glad you beat me to it. And yes, the trip to Cincinnati is about the same as my trip to Bridgeview.
Depends on where he lives in Chicago. At one time, I lived in Edgewater Glen, just south of Rogers Park and Loyola University. It took an hour for me on the Red Line just to get to work in the loop. It would have probably taken me longer to get to Bridgeview than it does to get from from my house in Northern Summit County to Mapfre.
Will Crew be the away team? Will the stadium be full (or a third full because Chicago) of assholes whom are not Crew fans? I say we start with those questions. No particular order.
I can relate. Growing up, it took me longer to get from my near NE Philly suburb down to the Vet to see the Phillies than it does to go from NE Columbus down to Cincy to see the Reds.
Definitely headed to Cincy. Midweek in Chicago if the wife can get off work (she is very upset that we are missing the home Fire match). Would like to make it up to Toronto for that match at the end of the season as it could have a lot on the line.
I'll be at Cincy (though that maybe a given for a lot of people anymore) And looking at Heading up to Chicago with some buddies as well.
If we're counting Hamburgler's Chicago trip then I am officially petitioning to have my 3 mile Orlando trip counted as well.
My buddy and I are discussing: 5/4 @ DC (Not Likely) 5/18 @ MNUFC (More Likely) 8/25 @ FCTidePod (Very Likely) Additionally, I am considering: 7/13 @ Disney SC 7/27 @ Metrostars 9/14 @ ATL 10/6 @ TFC

Colorado? Fun Bus? wow.longggg ride..,.Train from Cleveland to Denver 30-38 hours...geezz. Flying is looking better all the time
I'm a big fan of trains, and I'd like to take the train from LA to San Jose for the game, but it takes almost 4x longer and costs nearly twice as much than flying.
