Stop with this no sense about Tomiyasu in EPL. He's in the best place to grown as a CB. Another 3 years of Serie A and by Qatar2022 he will be a solid experienced CB, maybe the best in JNT history.
According to Bologna's technical director Sabatini, Tomiyasu is already at the level of Manchester United. I don't know whether it's praise or not, though. He should pick a team he has realistic chance of starting. At his age, playing time is the most important thing for his development. I wouldn't mind him staying at Bologna a little longer. He played as a CB due to Danilo's suspension last week and got above average ratings again. Btw, Bologna's full backs were incredibly pathetic. No wonder they use Tomiyasu as a RB.
Sabatini is a great scout (but tends to suck when it comes to team building). He has found anonymous players and then sold them expensively. Lamela, Marquinhos, Benatia etc. Tomiyasu will be his latest top product soon. Meanwhile Nagatomo has been linked with Bologna. #Bologna are interested in Yuto #Nagatomo. The japanese player could leave #Galatasaray to return in Serie A. #transfers— Nicolò Schira (@NicoSchira) December 29, 2019
(Too late to post this? Christmas was almost 1 month ago. ) Tomiyasu is already quite popular in Bologna. 00:16 "Il tuo giocatore prefierito quindi (Your favorite player?)" "Tomiyasu!"
Today I watched the match vs Spal. Tomiyasu had a solid performance and saved a clear shot on goal anticipating and deflecting the fw shoot like a pro. Probably he was between the top3 on the pitch if not the mvp. I was surprised Bologna choose him as one of the defenders that go on attack at every ck, nice for a japanese dude! He will be a pleasent assurance for Japan defence at the Olympics for sure.
The crossing part is what most Japanese defenders lack even Nagatomo wasn't known for his accurate crosses. Still I'm happy for him and I hope he would stay a bit longer with Bologna and not thinking of a transfer to a bigger club and then end up being a bench warmer.
Bologna won a hard-fought match tonight against Roma at the Olympic Stadium at Rome. A 3-2 away win for Bologna, Tomiyasu played the full match, he made some very well interceptions and clearances. However, he reacted slowly in some occasions and gave Roma wingers some space on the wing. This can be justified as he was out due to the suspension and in addition to the fact he was playing at one of the most intimating stadiums and against one of Serie A’s toughest teams. So far so good for both for Tomiyasu and Bologna as they moved provisionally to the 6th place in the league table.
Tomiyasu has been linked with Roma. But with Bologna unwilling to release him unless they get top dollar, I don't think the transfer will happen. Roma aren't that rich.
Tomiyasu is starting against Cristiano Ronaldo. Presenting you with a Bologna starting line-up for the first time in 1⃣1⃣4⃣ days 😃👇#BolognaJuventus #WeAreOne pic.twitter.com/gV2oywdyYp— Bologna FC 1909 (@BolognaFC1909en) June 22, 2020
Very good performance despite the defeat. He won his match vs Ronaldo and he was probably the most dynamic defenders trying even to score 2 times first by head and then shooting from distance. Imo Bologna mvp.
I watched the match shortly after he was subbed out, so we need to check. However, Mihajlovic complained ahead of this match that he couldn't rest Tomiyasu and another player (IIRC Orsolini or Soriano) as they are irreplaceable, yet he is afraid of them being overused and exhausted. This is said and given that Tomiyasu was beaten by Ashley Young in the play which led to Inter's goal, in addition to the fact that Bologna were reduced to 10 men shortly before Tomiyasu was subbed out, I think that the reason of the change is the team's need for fresher legs.
Hmm, I saw the game, definitely wasn't one of his bests. He cares way too much about keeping his hands on his body inside the PK and forgets other things in the meanwhile. His assist was random to be fair, as much as he has adapted well as a sideback, I still hope Bologna finds a way to put him back in the center. I just can't see him continuing his career as a SB... Still had a very good season - don't get me wrong on that.
