Given how these two years went, I wouldn't advice him to join the least attracting league for Japanese players. LaLiga is the right place, it's just a matter of nailing the right team. Real Sociedad could be a good option.

No, Arteta is known that he's a good coach to improve player. I think it would be good for Kubo if he move to PL. La Liga is getting more and more defensive and physical these days, I think PL would be better suit for his development.

Italian Serie A is a better destination than both Spain and England.

Considering that Arteta is at Arsenal instead of Wenger/Emery, wouldn't really disagree alot with Kubo going there. Arteta might help to develop Kubo if he really goes there. Of course, maybe he can see if FC Mallorca wants him again if they manage to come back to La Liga next season. They are at 2nd spot now.

Just scored a stunner against Levante which has matematically saved Getafe.

At least the season did not end without Kubo scoring in the league.

Hehe it looked like he won the league title after it.
But it was an important goal to not get relegated.

Kubo overreacted after the goal, probably he was really frustrated inside for this shame of a season.
Let's hope he will move to a file place for him while doing something remarkable at the OG.

Overreacted? That was the best goal celebration I've seen in some time.

Mixed feelings, but then again the goal was important.
And for him personally also, for doing 1 thing right this season.

I'm quite sure he perfectly knew how much that goal counted and yes, it was also a good unlock moment for him.

Happy for him. This season was a wasted year. Let's just hope he'll restart with better spirit after the Olympics.

Personally think his game is more suited to the quick tempo of the bundesliga. If guys like Tatsuya Ito can look good in that league imagine what Kubo could do.

Oh FFS. This backfired massively. I think Zidane leaving will be the end of a young and rejuvenated Real.

He hasn't done enough to prove he's up for RM or even barely la Liga.

Does it really matter how bad Kubo plays?

Golden child of the JFA. The guy is guaranteed game time for the JNT for the rest of his career.

Regardless of his form and contribution to the team, while others are ignored/underused because of him.

I don't share that view. In Mallorca, he had a good season. Unfortunately, when you're this young, picking the wrong club equals a lost year.

He just needs to make better choices.

    I'm not sure what "backfired".
Did anyone here think he would go on to play for Real Madrid ?

Well, in 2-3 years, yes. The talent is there.

This never happened for Miyaichi who had a good season in Rotterdam and at the very begginning was even appreciated by Arsenal fans over Theo Walcott.
Maybe he will play Qatar2022 but with another shame of a season and a bad WC he will be forgotten asap.

In the big picture, whether or not the national team enjoys success with Kubo in the team is only one piece of his career. This season was kind of lost once he fell out of favor at an admittedly talented Villarreal side and ended up in a Getafe setup which didn't suit his skillset at all, but to his credit he didn't quit and literally saved his team from relegation with a fantastic golazo. I do not understand why you would make fun of him for celebrating that moment.
