Spanish media suggested that Real Betis might be Kubo's next destination. Betis appointed former Real Madrid manager Manuel Pellegrini as their manager, and he can provide Kubo with important coaching to lead him to the next level (from Real Madrid's perspecive, as suggested by the same article). Pellegrini managed, in addition to Real Madrid, Manchester City, River Plate, Villarreal, Malaga, and most recently West Ham United. He led Villareal to UEFA's Champions League semifinals in 2005/2006, and Malaga to the quarterfinals of the same competition in 2012/2013. He is known of appreciating talented players, and playing attractive attacking style.
I remember there was a small period after Okada Japan when we thought Pellegrini may become Japan manager.......him and Jose Pekerman.....
Yes. Hiromi Hara wanted to bring a Hispanic manager at any cost. First it was either Manuel Pellegrini, Jose Pekerman, Javier Irureta, or Marco van Basten (who was the only non-Hispanic probable candidate). Then, the list was shortened to three lower-profile Hispanic managers (compared to the aforementioned candidates then) ; Ernesto Valverde, Gregorio Manzano, and current Zaragoza manager Victor Fernandez. Valverde was the closest candidate, and if I recall correctly a formal offer was presented to him, but he wanted to live in Spain, and only coming to Japan briefly before the international breaks to manage during trainings and matches. JFA then refused his condition and went for Alberto Zaccheroni.
Granada are rumoured to be interested in signing him. The team finished 7th of the table in their first sesson back to the top division, they will play European football next season, and they play an entertaining attacking style which fits Kubo.
Granada's manager (head coach) Diego Martínez used to coach Hiroshi Ibusuki at Sevilla B in the 2011/2012 season. He is a young coach (he will turn 40 years old next December) , but he is doing great job getting the best of young players such as Venezuelan midfielder Yangel Herrera, who spent this season on-loan at Granada from Manchester City.
Betis would be better than Granada, but both teams played a more suited brand of football to Kubo than Mallorca, honestly.
Sevilla lead the race for Kubo https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2020/07/24/5f1b54c8268e3ea6268b45ef.html Ocampos is their usual starter at right wing but he also can play as left winger.
According to Spanish newspaper AS: Kubo is set to join Villarreal next season on a 1-year loan deal from Real Madrid. Villareal are qualified to Europa League and recently appointed Unai Emery as their manager.
Some details. https://www.marca.com/en/football/real-madrid/2020/08/05/5f2adfb946163f9f188b459d.html Villarreal promised Kubo playing time. The loan fee is believed to be €2 million. Bayern Munich tried to loan him but Kubo prefered to stay in Spain. FYI, Osasuna were in pole position to loan him. However according to their sporting director, everything changed after Bayern joined the race.
What's the fecking meaning of a loan to Bayern? Are they looking for some asian sponsor/market to sell Kubo jersey? It would be really an uncomprehensible move to leave a country were everyone rate you good and where you manage the language as a native to move to a country where none know you, you can't understand 1 word and in a big club where you will never play and risk to finish as Usami.
It's a moot point, but you could get by with English at Bayern and Kubo isn't exactly an unknown figure throughout Europe. I'm sure they weren't planning on paying the reported huge loan fee to have Kubo sit in the stands, they've tried (and failed) to integrate other creative #10s like James and Coutinho on loan so perhaps there was a similar line of thought there.
https://news.yahoo.co.jp/articles/71f6a86dc8ee60c93328b8fca9cd52de33517327 Kubo's loan fee is 5 mil Euros. Unbelievable that Barca didn't offer him a better contract than Real. Kubo's contract with Real is probably nothing compared to the amount of money he has brought in by now. Another idiotic mistake by Barca.
I'm sorry though... isn't that an idiotic fee for a loan? Of course Villarreal will enjoy the growth of Kubo for two seasons and maybe Real will even want him back after just one year (maybe payng a return fee), but... 5 millions for a loan without an option to buy?
anyone feels like kubo has play 1 year in spain but his muscle doesnt bigger ? if he didnt improve his muscle, he might able to play at real
wtf you look rodrygo in real he play in 1 year like kubo but his muscle very grown up look kubo I don't see any grown up in 1 year
please refrain. Anyway, Kubo is still young and his body is different. Comparing him to a brazilian doesn't make any sense.
Kubo was one of the most successful dribblers in La Liga, bypassing 81 players. He definitely got stronger and was extremely difficult to dispossess, seems like progress to me.
