I saw a couple clips of the Norway v. Spain. I’m curious if anyone had thoughts on the Kepa (I’m not going to try and spell his last name, I know shame on me) punch/strike in the Norway match.

Mike (trash bin) Oliver gave a stone cold PK.

Decisions like these are why we were told we need VAR:

Clearly wrong. Match critical. Going to seriously affect who goes to a major tournament.

Of course, we don’t have VAR in qualifiers. So, oh well!

Yikes, where’s an AAR when you need one.

Yeah exactly "Oh well" is right. They complain no matter what, so let's just ref the games, get our money, and go home.

did anyone watch wales vs croatia, kuipers always remains so calm, and had 2 ugly fouls and collisions, that were only cautions, and everyone seemed to be okay with it!

R “saw” handling on a goal, so he pulled back the goal and cautioned. Even the Premier League would have reversed....

(It’s easy to see from where the body and arm were why the R thought that’s what he saw.)

Also, is there an offside decision on the Hungary goal? From around 0:32.

BULvENG. Racism step 1 implemented around the 30th minute or so. Came close to step 2 (pulling players off the field) in the 42nd. A large number of spectators wearing dark hoodies left the stadium at that point.

Play-wise not a ton going on, but I really liked the ref's communication for an offside call 10-15m inside the Bulgarian half (by a Bulgarian player). Round about the 35th or so.

Bucket list item: restart in the defensive end of the team offside!

Not much protest, but by then Bulgaria had pretty much given up and were clearly totally demoralized by
the score and the stadium problems. Might have been a different reaction in a close game.
(Note: he was not actually offside in his own half. And the difference in position of the IDFK was
    negligible anyway.)

Maybe I still don't understand the new handling Law changes quite well enough, but isn't the penalty kick awarded to Portugal objectively the wrong decision according to the new Laws?

I know the defender made himself bigger, but the ball did come off his thigh first.

"If the ball comes directly off the player's own body or feet."

    Explanations:
    and

    [EMPHASIS ADDED]

Anyone that makes their body unnaturally bigger and then handles the ball is in violation. And, outside of England, is almost only going to be called a foul.

Not quite. There's the exception if the ball is deliberately played and then bounces into their own arm which is the case red star is referring too.

    Yes.

Goal was scored (directly). #10 didn't interfere with anything, so meh.

Has UEFA settled on the interpretation of these infringements?
