oof! Some crazy "flow" issues when I copied/pasted. Too lazy to fix. Sorry. English League Championship 2019-2020 1 West Bromwich Albion 2 Leeds United 3 Brentford 4 Fulham 5 Nottingham Forest 6 Sheffield Wednesday 7 Millwall 8 Swansea City 9 Bristol City 10 Preston North End 11 Hull City 12 Blackburn Rovers 13 Cardiff City 14 Reading 15 Queens Park Rangers 16 Middlesbrough 17 Derby County 18 Birmingham City 19 Charlton Athletic 20 Huddersfield Town 21 Stoke City 22 Barnsley 23 Wigan Athletic 24 Luton Town
I root for Sheffield Wednesday a little because of you, but I don't know the names of more than a couple of players, and I don't care about LC as much this season after Aston Villa's promotion. Clubs I would root for next season are Aston Villa and AFC Bournemouth if they get relegated and Sunderland if they get promoted. Sunderland is seventh with at least 2 games in hand over four of the top six.
Leeds drew Fulham draw with Millwall WBA win and are now 6 points clear. Only 3 points separate 2nd place and 7th place. The second automatic promotion spot is up for grabs.
All football suspended until April and what happens then is anyone's guess, at least we're sitting in the automatic spot.
Coventry were playing like a Championship side prior to the suspension they should do well there I think. We'll probably do our usual yo-yo routine assuming we get promoted which I'm starting to worry about now. There's talk of the season being declared null and void and even if it gets restarted form is going to be out of the window, we'll really need to hit the ground running as there's half a dozen other team chomping at our heels.
So it's on Saturday 20th JUNE Fulham v Brentford Middlesbrough v Swansea City Millwall v Derby County Blackburn Rovers v Bristol City Huddersfield Town v Wigan Athletic Hull City v Charlton Athletic Luton Town v Preston North End Queens Park Rangers v Barnsley Reading v Stoke City Sheffield Wednesday v Nottingham Forest West Bromwich Albion v Birmingham City SUNDAY 21st JUNE Cardiff City v Leeds United
Last day. Only Leeds have been promoted. No one has been officially relegated. The second spot is up for grabs. As is the last playoff spot. I'd like to see Brentford make it. Maybe Wednesday can do it next year? The EPL could use The Steel City Derby.
Brentford has never been in the Premier League. The last time they were in the top level was the 1946-1947 First Division. In 2007-2008 they were in the bottom half of League Two. The other playoff clubs were in the Premier League recently. They are Fulham, Cardiff, and Swansea. If the bottom two seeds win the Semifinals, the Final will have two Welsh clubs. I wonder what the biggest game between two Welsh clubs in the English league system was.
