As I'm sure you know, BC also fired its football coach a couple of days ago. Any thoughts on how that might affect the hiring of the soccer coach?
One would think actual AD hires a football coach, someone beneath AD hires the soccer coach. My guess is it would not influence the timing of a soccer coach hire.
If the hiring process from football is even the AD. It’s commonplace to get an outside committee to handle a lot of the processes. For other positions, it’s common for an internal committee to have a big say on candidates.
In a slightly twisted observation, one of my son's college soccer teammates served on the committee to select the new AD soon after he graduated.

Wow. Just saw that a few minutes ago. My local D1. Kind of vague whether Matt and the others were also released. Matt was AHC.
not surprised ...not surprised at all. SDSU soccer has perennially underperformed given its talent for a very long time. SDSU athletics have had some pretty good success in its revenue sports....men’s soccer has languished in comparison. The PAC 12 (6) is about to become even more competitive if SDSU makes a good hire!

Hmm... He's pretty young, as coaches go. I wonder if he's moving to one of the other vacancies or taking something else (academy, USL) in American coaching. Not a great college coach but certainly not a bad one, and he produced some MLS players and made some NCAA Tournaments and kept the program out of trouble.
Been keeping an eye on the 3 greater Boston jobs and not much is being said (other than a paywall "NE soccer J" piece). Thinking Andy Fleming from X could be a candidate for one or all HarvBUBC? He's a former AC at BU(schoolboy star in the Catholic league). Likely in town this week interviewing with someone?
my understanding is that Drexel really doesn't pay well. but that might not be the most important factor for Marlon.
It’s a university job with good benefits, and a salary enough to support a family. Plus, if he is only in Philly while his kid is playing, it might be a short-term gig anyway. Drexel is a good school, and the campus has been transformed. It isn’t a hard sell for kids in the Northeast. Drexel was grossly mismanaged for years, much like the rest of the current Division I programs in the Philadelphia area. It wouldn’t be hard to step into that role and quickly turn it into the best soccer destination in the Philadelphia area. Marlon would be a huge step-up, and I think he would turn things around quickly at Drexel.
I think this has been said on here before, but I would think Tufts' Josh Shapiro (winner of 4 DIII nattys) would be a great fit at Harvard or BC or BU. That would be my first call in Boston. I just want this on the record in case it happens I can have an "I told you so" moment. Also West Virginia has been doing very well. Their program had a lot of energy around it. Am very surprised to see their coach leave. HAS TO BE for bigger and better things.
So he needs to be near Philly and is a great coach..... Drexel open but does nor pay enough? Penn has a new guy who is really good (G-Town asst) Temple new coach (UMD asst) LaSalle too small. St Joes too small? Princeton? Univ of Delaware? Under achieving past couple years. Or he could just work for the Union in some capacity. Excited to see what comes
Candidates for any of these? BC the biggest name on the board. Anyone else surprised that hasn’t been named yet? ACC gig. One would think that this would’ve been sorted out already. Some have been open for quite some time already.
