Goal for Sugawara in the Europa League, as his team won 6-0 against FC Astana. He earned a PK also, which one of his teammates converted successfully. He came in as a second-half substitute, and from what I saw he played in the midfield as a side-midfielder. Another good performance from him, and he never fails to impress, and all of this while he is just 19 years-old and in his first season in Europe.
He's with an unbelievable Orange 4 talent group. He simply is blessed he joined them while AZ has the most exciting attack of the Eredivisie. Plus it's the team with at the moment the most exciting football of the Eredivisie. It's such a joy to watch it.
Dutch and Belgian top flight leagues might be going to merge into a one league (BeNeLiga): https://uk.sports.yahoo.com/news/dutch-belgian-top-flight-moves-195855545.html
This is going to be a big match. AZ has a thrilling team with the best attack in the Eredivisie. So the PSV defense is going to be tested. They also have one of the upcoming midfield stars ready to join the Orange team, so a major test waiting for PSV's midfield too too. The defense is a strong point too as the only conceded 4 goals in 9 matches. That number doubled in a crazy match they lost 3-4 against Heerenveen in the 10th game. Manchester United couldnot get one shot on goal in the EL. Thursday they wacked their EL opponent 6-0 and it could/should have been higher. So get the popcorn and saki ready and brace yourself coming sunday.
Sugawara is starting as a right-side attacker in a 4-3-3 formation for AZ Alkmaar, against Doan who is starting for PSV: 🔥 TEAM#psvaz #AZ #Eredivisie pic.twitter.com/FUJN9n5s9y— AZ (@AZAlkmaar) October 27, 2019
Match ended 0-4 for Alkmaar. Sugawara played 67th minute and then was subbed out when the result was 0-2. Doan subbed out at half-time.
AZ set to sign Sugawara on a permanent deal. AZ's technical director is satisfied with his quick adjustment to Dutch football. https://www.soccerdigestweb.com/news/detail/id=69096
He signed a 5-years contract, running until mid-2025: https://www.az.nl/nl/nieuws/az-legt-sugawara-definitief-vast
He's lucky. Lot of players are going to face a cutting of their pay when an extention is in line or when a transfer is done in the aftermath of the corona virus.
Sugawara scored a wonderful long-range goal from outside the penalty box in a friendly against French club Lille. His goal was the equaliser for AZ Alkmaar, as he helped his team to reverse the result and to win 2-1. Both teams are qualified to the 2020/2021 UEFA Champions League.
AZ made it to the next qualifying round of the CL. Really hope they make it into the group stage. Would be massive.
