Okazaki’s English sounds somewhat improved. Which is not saying a lot, but.... https://theasiangame.libsyn.com/tag-ep55-caitlin-foord-shinji-okazaki
Shinji derby (Okazaki vs. Kagawa) happening right now. Oka active early, attempting 2 successive volleys while on the floor in classic fashion. He then wins a foul right outside the box, giving Zaragoza a lot of trouble.
Heuseca are dominating the play, with some counterattacks from Zaragoza. Kagawa had a great chance to open the scoring for Zaragoza late in the first half, but his shot just went inches wide off the left post.
Okazaki scored again tonight. His 10th league goal of the season, as his team is leading 1-0 at HT, and now are provisionally second of the league table.
I think the coach is rotating the players, and considering Okazaki's age, he really needs to he rested, especially in an easy match on paper. However, it seems Deportivo La Coruna never fail to disappoint this season, either positively or negatively.
Scored his 11th goal of the season by a flying header. Now his team, Huesca, are second of the league table, and they are needing just one point from the remaining 4 matches to at least guarantee that they will finish in the top-6 and secure a spot in the promotion play-offs, or they can be promoted directly to ths top Spanish La Liga if they finished in the top 2 places. Okazaki also set a new record for Japanese players in Spanish's second tier as the Japanese with most goals scored in a single season (11), previously this record was held by Keiji Fukuda who scored 10 goals for Numanicia in the 20p06/2007 season.
He is the third best scorer in the league, if we exclude penalties. 16 | 3012 MP | Suarez (+ 3 PK) 15 | 3052 MP | Stuani (+ 7 PK) 11 | 2714 MP | Yuri (+ 6 PK) 11 | 2241 MP | Okazaki (+ 0 PK)
Okazaki scored his 12th goal of the sason by a lovely backheel shot. He scored the 3-0 goal in the 78th minute, and he was subbed out few moments later. If results stand as they are, Huesca will be guaranteed to finish the season as on the top 2 teams, and will consequently secure their promotion to the 2020/2021 La Liga's top division.
Some wholesome content: Return to japan and give back to all the young players watching you abroad! Why go to a lesser leagues in Asia! Let the young players see you play in japan again help them develop 😡 https://t.co/ZwAZ15kmWq— Jay bothroyd (@jaybothroyd) July 9, 2020 Keep in touch 👍🏽👌🏽 https://t.co/cXZhTN6efT— Jay bothroyd (@jaybothroyd) July 9, 2020 Huesca clinch promotion with a 3-0 win over Numancia, as Almeria and Zaragoza lose! I agree with Jay Boothroyd, but first Okazaki has to play at least one season in Spanish top division.
No worries - Okazaki has already spoken of his excitement at playing in La Liga next year. 🎥🎙️1️⃣部昇格にゴールで貢献💪⚽今シーズン1️⃣2️⃣ゴール目も決めた #岡崎慎司 選手のコメントをどうぞ💙❤️👏昇格はサポーターの皆さんと一緒に達成しものです🤝おめでとうございます🎊㊗️ pic.twitter.com/mKxEF5KN9x— SDウエスカ🇯🇵【公式】 (@SDHuesca_jp) July 17, 2020 The club has an option to extend his contract, which I'm sure they'll be thrilled to exercise.
Huesca won the La Liga Segunda division title. Their first ever title. Okazaki now helped Leicester winning the English Premier League title in his first season in England, and Huesca to win the Segunda Liga in his first season in Spain. I wonder if he will manage to help another team in a different country to win a title in his first season in that country?
Maybe. But now he has to stay and fight for Huesca in La Liga!! Haha and to think Malaga did not manage to keep him now.
Okazaki came in as a sub at halftime, and he was involved in a lovely 1-3 which led to Huesca's Championship winning goal.
Beautiful goal but his ninja movement before the goal is more impressive. He is still playing like he is in his 20s. 2022 WC is a realistic dream for him. With Huesca promoted, there will be 10 Japanese players in the top 4 leagues next season. Spain - Kubo, Inui, Okazaki England - Minamino (Muto will move to somewhere he can get consistent playing time) Italy - Tomiyasu, Yoshida Germany - Kamada, Hasebe, Osako, Endo All of them except Minamino and to a lesser extent Inui are expected to be regular starters.
