As usual: start for Tomiyasu and Endo, and bench for Sekine: STVV krijgt vanavond bezoek van de Kustboys uit Oostende. Dit zijn de samenstellingen van beide ploegen. #stvkvo #jpl pic.twitter.com/q7wEIJKxFl— @STVVLive (@STVVLive) September 1, 2018
This team just can't win! I wonder why don't they sign a Japanese striker instead of three defensive-oriented players? They could have get Toyoda or Tagawa to team up with their forms teammate Kamada.
They are 1-0 up, as the team scored from a penalty. Sekine came in shortly after the goal at th 83rd minute to make his debut.
@_katsukun_ and whoever here from Beligium: how the media and football fans in Belgium think about Sint-Truiden getting so many Japanese in their team?
I’ve read they got a 5th Japanese player. That’s about it. In terms of nationwide fans you have Anderlecht, Club Brugge and in lesser extent Kawashima’s former team Standard Liege, that’s it. All the others mainly/only have a local fan base. So national media coverage for a team like St-Truiden is very limited. People in St-Truiden probably have an opinion but I wouldn’t know. And also, there are already quite some Belgian teams that have been taken over by foreign investors (now & in the past) and have brought a legion of foreign players so nothing new there either. To summarize, Belgium doesn’t care

They won 1-2 against Gent. First away win of the season against a top-6 team. They previously drew 1-1 away against another top-6 team, Genk, and only lost once in their opening 7 league games 2-3 away against Standard Liege (another top of the table team). If they manage to win their home games against teams from middle and lower reaches of the table, and at least avoid to lose against top of the table teams they could finish in the upper half of the table.
Kamada is really good. 10 months without a minute on the pitch and he does THAT to win the game. Just wow.
I think that will be difficult, but whatever happens this is why I encourage "softer" first moves for japanese players unless we're talking about Kagawaesque-level players. Sad to think he wasted one year :/
