Depends on the school and level. Lots of administrations are nowhere as near as delusional as UTEP and Stetson at the mid major level and realize that so long as the program is competitive (which varies), the kids graduate and have a good time, a coach can have longevity.
Holmes - not sure if you missed your shot at a glamorous life as a sorority girl or something but you always seem to bring that up. In 20 years coaching at the college level and club level, I can count on one hand how many of my players wanted to be in a sorority or after stopping soccer joined a sorority? Athletes have their own social circle, that many enjoy the "college life" as much as any greek.
I know of several student-athletes in the past decade at DI’s and even P5 schools that played a large role on the women’s soccer team (were starters, or all conference or played big minutes) and were part of a sorority. To me it’s sort of like women’s soccer players in nursing. Everyone thinks it’s impossible and doesn’t happen, but in reality it’s up to the student-athlete and program. There’s lots of programs that don’t allow their women’s soccer players to be part of the nursing program or join a sorority. Yet there are some that do. It may be fewer and far between but it’s not a hard and fast rule that ALL D1s/P5s prohibit sororities or nursing. I know several student athletes that balanced both soccer and nursing or soccer and a sorority and their lives were fulfilled and enriched for it (I know a few who failed to balance it as well). Either way, I certainly understand why many schools prohibit it.
Pitt didn't cut anyone after the last game this year. Teams already had their end of season meetings and no one was cut.
Holmes is always talking about the I-95 corridor money factories, soccer factories, the northerly plastic division of the ACC, the southerly Bermuda division of the ACC, sororities, blah, blah, blah......He talks out of his ass. Do what I do and put him on ignore. I'm with you on the sorority bit. Most D1 female athletes don't have a desire to be in a sorority nor do they have the time for it. If they need to scratch an itch for the sorority life there are parties that they can go to. I was a collegiate athlete in a northerly clime and I had no desire to join a fraternity. Between training, games, studies, socializing, and chicks, I didn't have time for it. Neither did most of my teammates. I can only remember a handful of athletes at my school, from all sports, that were Greek. D3 athletics and academics are great and athletes are also afforded a lot more balance in their lives between athletics, academics, and social aspects. If someone really wants the Greek life it is probably more doable although just because they are D3 doesn't mean that there is a lot of extra time. Regardless of whatever school an athlete competes at and what division that school is in, it takes a lot of discipline to excel on the field and in the classroom.
If you have a .edu email and have an NCAA account, then you can see it. It's intended to make the "release" form easily available to all parties involved in a transfer. Conferences can still mandate the "year in residency" requirement for internal transfers and even not permit contact within the conference. Some students can also check "do not contact" them if someone sees their release posted there. That is, they likely already know what school they want to transfer to but the form is now somewhat 'public', at least within the NCAA. When I was in college, 2 fraternities competed for soccer players and so 7-9 kids where in each of them every year. They just did more of that stuff in the Spring semester. It worked fine and they had great houses available for the 'soccer parties'.

Good decision by Indiana. Poor coach, never rated by the head coach at auburn even though she was the assistant there, wasn’t popular with club coaches in the Indiana/Ohio/ Good decision by Indiana. Poor coach, wasn’t rated by the head coach at auburn even though she assisted there, and rubbed a lot of club coaches in the Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania areas the wrong way. Look for Indiana to make a statement hire this time.
Correct, although after their meeting where they were told they will never play there and they should look at other schools. That was just two of them the other has already committed to Florida, she left on her own will.
They may have to high of expectations because of the men’s side, but I agree. Does B.J. Snow get back in to the college game? What other alums are out there coaching in the women’s game?
I think it is fair to tell returners that based on where the program is going, you don't see them playing any minutes in the future seasons. At least it gives them the opportunity to look for another program where they can get the playing experience they were hoping for
The region stuff worked out as they draw KU in a grudge rematch. IU must pray KU hangs on to keep her from getting exposure vs UNC and Dorrance endorsement. I think they have a shot at UNC if they get there. Being mid-western dominated and not from the Elite 25's recruiting zones (I-95 and Cali), they won't be apt to psychologically roll over as an eastern A-10 team would,
