He isn’t they declined is option. Going to NASL/USL his legs are gone as he has gotten older unfortunately.
Quintero and his agent were in Chicago last week meeting with the Fire. Sevilla was interested but now looking at Sneijder. Might have to move Accam or tap the new TAM to pay him down in order to sign Q and Bastion Jakub Blaszczykowski is out Alan Gordon is in the Fire's sights.
I doubt that is how it works. Cash can only be used on DPs (maybe home growns?) everything else is covered by the TAM/GAM or the budget.
No f*cking way do I want Alan Gordon here. I would prefer Jakub or Sneijder but Quintero would be awesome.
I think a player with the style of Alan Gordon to be a late game sub would be a good edition, but not Alan Gordon. F@ck that homophobe. I don't think there's a plausible way to sign Casillas for under DP money. If NROD somehow did it, I'd have to reconsider my opinion of his shittiness. This would be a pretty exciting team: Nikolic DeLeeuw Accam Quintero Dax. Bastian Vincent Kappelhoff Lillard/Campbell Polster Casillas There are technically 7 DPs in that lineup though. I guess we did have that many this year too.
Bite your goddamned tongue. Steven Lenhart is a blight on humanity. Alan Gordon is just a crappy soccer player and more than a bit of a homophobe. Lenhart should never be in any conversation other than a conversation about shitty soccer players and despicable human beings with very, very bad hair. Now that I think about it, you could say the same about Alan Gordon. ...but Lenhart is worse. I despise Lenhart, one of my three all time most disliked MLS player (Ruiz and Ritchie Williams being the other two)
Guys 🇨🇴 Juan Quintero ma dołączyć do Chicago Fire.24-letni ofensywny pomocnik do końca roku jest na wypożyczeniu w Independiente Medellín. Do FC Porto dołączył w 2013 roku, potem był wypożyczony do Rennes i Medellín.#MLSpl #cf97 pic.twitter.com/9cR5hSqQhV— Katarzyna Przepiórka (@pustulkaa) December 23, 2017 Which means "Juan Quintero is to join Chicago Fire. The 24-year-old offensive midfielder is on loan at Independiente Medellín until the end of the year. He joined FC Porto in 2013, then he was loaned to Rennes and Medellín." #cf97— Chris May (@chrismayCF97) December 24, 2017
I'd wait until a more regular media source reports it. Apparently personal terms (the low hanging fruit) have been agreed, but there's no deal with Porto yet. It's kind of like the Maloney saga. No one is going to offer Quintero more money than MLS/Fire, but Porto is going to try to recoup as much of the money they spent on his transfer as they can.
I'll believe it when it actually happens. Right now Quintero, Casillas, and Schweinsteiger coming back is all talk. I'm more concerned about the lack of depth we have at every single position right now and N-Rod so far has done nothing to address it. Lack of depth is what killed us last year and if N-Rod doesn't start addressing it is what is going to be our down fall this year.
Well, the draft is coming up. We can certainly find the depth at every position through the draft...probably at least 4 immediate starters as well. Definitely With out doubt Yesiree, bob (no, Bradley is not coming back)
Sarcastic. . . trust me on that. I'd bet all the balls in the world on it. You know how much that means to a Mod here.
The draft can build depth if all you care about is having a body fill a roster spot. The draft is a real crapshoot in terms of having someone make a meaningful contribution to the team. If you get one guy from the draft to do that, you are very fortunate. If the Fire get Quintero, I would be happy. I fear no other upgrades after that based on the lack of ownership reaching into his own pocket to fund a good team.
