Tbh I’ve had my fill in that thread. I made a post congratulating Croatia on a deserved win, if they want to behave like idiots then that’s up to them and they can make themselves look like bad winners. I’ve already lost my cool with trolls in there and can’t be arsed anymore with people that want to believe something that was never really there, it was just a motivation tool which came about because people said they might be tired ( which was a fair comment) which their coach exaggerated.

It would've been harsh to rule out that goal. I know if that was us and that happened we'd be fuming.

It’s utter nonsense as usual. There are elements of WC coverage that is jingoistic nonsense or even xenophobic crap but it doesn’t represent anything but the person/s who are saying it as an opinion. It’s only when England are involved that it becomes a monumental issue. Look at some of the Croatian headlines during the WC - "We will beat Russia, or we will beat ourselves" "the English are unbelievably inferior" "England were knocked out by the future world champions" To me it would be an absurd jump in logic to read these headlines and come to the conclusion that Croatians or even their whole media are arrogant or rude. Same with all the talk of Scottish/Welsh people that point out that it’s the media that are to blame and why we are hated. It’s an excuse. Did they not witness the shitshow that was Wales’ Euros campaign? How was that any different? The coverage was just as cringeworthy than anything else. Maybe even worse because some of their players egged it on. I’ve seen plenty of foreign coverage of international sporting events to see through this crap. Our media is annoying at times to say the least but the idea that others aren’t just as bad is absurd to me.
