LJS won't get offer from the big 5 leagues, but nothing prevents him from joining a mid/high table team in the Russian premier league. Not the best league in the world but surely a step further to improve as a player. While KYG has solid chances, even from the top 5 leagues.
Lee Jae Sung was statistically seen pretty good against Germany. And in other forums, he's quite gotten the attention. We tend to see the bad things from our players to oversee the good ones. In smaller teams from the big 5 leagues, he still can compete. Btw I've heard that Ligue Un has something like an Asian quota now. He'll most likely end up there I think.
due to foreign player quota and the financial power of Russian clubs, isn't LJS's chances slim? They would rather sign a more expensive player from say, South America.
No, they are very, very unlikely to get offers. More like a wish list. Cho Hyun-Woo will not move because of military issues. In most likelihood, he will move after a period at Sangju Sangmu, probably to a J-League given their track record of in-form Korean goalkeepers. Kim Young-Gwon gets paid nearly €70k a week and almost no European team would pay anywhere near that amount. He will stay at Guangzhou and renegotiate for a bigger contract.
Unlikely. Top Russian teams are packed with Brazilians and European players wanting to cash out, not to forget that they also have a foreign player quota.
I just read an article that Kim Young Gwon wants to cut his wages to half for a Europe move and that Guangzhou is likely to spend a lot for new foreign players this summer.
Can afford his wage (at least i think) anyway i have no preference, as long as he makes the next step...hell, even a move to J league or liga MX would be an improvement as of now.
Even half of that is far too much for most teams that Kim Young-Gwon can realistically play for. He's not going to move. Also, the scouts aren't just watching the last 3 matches of Kim Young-Gwon. He's been absolutely terrible for Guangzhou this season, which led him to be benched. Most likely, Guangzhou will give him another chance, and they will decide what to do with him at the end of the season.
Lol this one Chinese guy called Sonny a tiny Asian player. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/pb...rea-27-june-2018.2084571/page-9#post-36816257
IDK I think it has to do with the players' will. There have been many examples of "WC stars" (players who only shine during WC and move right after). Also, he has earned a lot so he might want to challenge himself for the next 3-4 years even if he earns less. His quote: "I would like to improve to help the NT" implies that he has an Europe move on his mind.
The theme for the Asian teams has been completely unexpected players stepping up: Korea: Obvs Cho Hyun-Woo, out of nowhere, saviour for Korea in all 3 matches. Real shame about his military service, and being confined in Asia. Really want to see him at a bigger stage. Iran: Another goalkeeper, Alireza Beiranvand, topped up by his Ronaldo penalty save. Also, a human catapult, seems like he can throw further than he kicks. Japan: Takashi Inui, he's 30, but plays like he's 20. Not only he's been a workhorse, but his skills have improved so much since his move to La Liga, and has been a nightmare for the Colombian and Senegalese defence.
We were never meant to be playing possession football or playing too defensive and neither do we have that luxury. We've wasted 3 years under a senile fraud who kept trying to force feed his unrealistic fantasies down our players' throat, and Shin Tae-yong killed it by taking his "experiments" or so called "tricks" even further by rotating the entire squad even right before the WC, utilizing stupid lineups and tactics, let alone have our team play a pussified bunkering game with Kim Shin-wook up top for 70 minutes straight even after realizing the Swedes weren't the type to raise their line and do the exact same thing, bunker. It still pisses me off that after witnessing our players bring out the best of themselves during the Colombia and Serbia friendlies, something that's been lacking for a long time, Shin Tae-yong had the team revert back to the struggling performances dating back since Choi Kang-hee and Stielike took charge. This is the core foundation for a decent performance, our performance:
Hiddink, who is on a Fox Sports panel for this World Cup, just said he is very proud of Korea and that the Korean team is very resilient. Also said he had been in touch with people inside the KFA and that morale had been low but that the team regained confidence with this match. And as I was watching him talk about us, a small voice inside my head asked, "What if?"
