I remember that fcken shitshow of a game where we had a Kim Chi Woo deflection free kick save our asses and the bbong chookgu we played ... I'm hoping that we can save ourselves from the embarrassment at least until the next round. I've learned from following 2010 and esp 2014 qualifying that there's no such thing as easy qualification...

It's better to avoid the two war zones that are in Group F imo...

    Some more thoughts.

Only team we should really be paying attention is Kuwait. They can be a hand full when we face them. Lebanon could be tricky but should be no problem for our team. Myanmar I heard is improving, maybe good enough to make the next asian cup straight up. But again, no problem for us. Laos, I expect double digit score result on our side.

8 games to be played, 8 wins.

It's the third round where we should be very concerned. Because top 12 teams in asia can beat any team in the third round. So korea, Australia, iran, Japan are not safe and an automatic lock to make the trip russia. I expect UAE, uzis, Iraq be in the hunt until the very end.

Some other thoughts. I full expect all top seed to make it, leaving the remaining fours teams, my picks are:

    Saudi, jordan, Kuwait, Bahrain.

And as for the norks. They maybe able to be the runner-up of their group with their top seed being Uzi, and Bahrain. But if they could reproduce the solid defense they had during 2010 run. I felt they lacked the veteran presence in the team which is why they were horrible in the asian cup. I hope they make it. I am rooting for the norks.

I have no idea how you can say this when they beat us and drew us as well.

Are you expecting same trend to continue? Of course not. In a roger goodell's most ridiculous nothing answer fashion, I'll reply and say

"We will make it right and do everything we can to win against Lebanon. We play our game, we'll have no problem beating them."

I have no idea what you're even trying to say here but given our mediocre performances in AC, I wouldn't take an opponent who has given us trouble for granted.

You're right. All teams in the second round, we should give all of them equal amount of serious attention. The two away games of Kuwait, and Lebanon. No doubt those two games are the biggest huddle. Having said that, what's your own expectation out this group when it's all done?. Here's mine, I fully expect 8 games, 8 wins. Goal margin could be one or two against Lebanon or Kuwait. we play our game, we should have no trouble beating both Kuwait and Lebanon in their own home.

Edit : roger goodell's Style of nothing answer is a reference from last season's South Park episode.

Edit2: now, third round we can agree that is a serious challenge to earn a trip to russia. But as for second round? I'm not worried one bit.

Teams that will make it to the 3rd round:
UAE, Australia, Qatar, Iran, Japan, Iraq, South Korea, and Uzbekistan.
The runner up teams that will make it to the 3rd round:
Saudi Arabia, China, Kuwait, and Bahrain.
If China make it to the next round, I hope we have them in our group.

Consider Korea's AG 2014 squad's (u-23) performance against Laos U-23. I'm curious how the fixtures would turn out considering our senior team vs their senior team.

Do you guys think Stielike will/should organize a team of domestic players (or other Asian leaguers) against SEA opponents?

I don't think the 2nd of the Group H will make it to the 3rd round…
KSA has a mental edge over UAE… Kuwait didn't win their 4 last official games against Lebanon, they won't have the home advantage in Kuwait city, so it will be difficult for the Blues.

    - against Kuwait since 2004 : 5 wins, 1 draw.

    - against Lebanon since 2004 : 3 wins, 2 draws, 1 defeat. interesting point : Lebanon never lost at home against South Korea (2 draws, 1w).

    Is that right?

Yeah, you haven't lost at home since 2004, the only loss was during the 1994 FIFA WCQ's (2013/05/11) where Ha Seok-Ju scored the winning goal.

No Park Joo-Ho, Koo Ja-Cheol, Kim Bo-Kyung, and Ji Dong-Won for the first 2018 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers vs Myanmar.

I cant believe it took less than 24 hours for Blatter to move on from trying to clean up football to blaming some sort of secret agenda by FBI for US / UK losing WC 22

Well, you're half right as the 5th place afc team did face a Conmebol team, Uruguay but like always Uzbekistan tend to choke so they lose to Jordan in the play off and Jordan in the end lose to Uruguay.

I hope there's a play off against the concacaf team for this world cup.
