These are the stats of the calendar year 2018 regarding the clubs in the 6 main European leagues (first divisions of England, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain).
I counted only the teams who played the whole year in the top division, i.e. I excluded the teams who were promoted at the end of the 2017/2018 campaign.
Some statistics have both the highest and the lowest values, some others only the highest.

They got 50 points from 37 games and are 12th so far in 2018-2019 after being 12th in 2017-2018, so I'm surprised they were trailing so much.

Thank you for pointing it out, I will double check just to be sure!
I will write the trailing values for the team in every single match, because this situation is interesting indeed.

    I've come to some conclusions.
This situation is given by the fact that Bournemouth are one of the teams with the highest number of equalizing goals scored, both in this campaign and (especially) in the previous one.

    These are the numbers:

    2017/2018
    • trailed 33 times (6th worst team in Europe, the first 5 were all relegated except Feirense, who wasn't relegated only by 1 point)
    • managed to come back 17 times (4th best team in Europe among those who trailed at least 20 times)
    • in the period from January to May 2018, they trailed in 13 games out of 17, and in 6 of them they trailed for at least 60 minutes, in one 59 minutes and in another one 56, so the overall average was quite high (more than 39 minutes per game)
    2018/2019
    • trailed 16 times (27th worst team in Europe, better than the previous campaign)
    • managed to come back only 6 times (worse than the previous campaign)
    • in the period from August to December 2018, they trailed in 11 games out of 20, (not so bad, but twice for more than 80 minutes per game, twice for more than 70 and twice for more than 60); the overall average is better (30,15 minutes per game)

    Conclusion
The team trailed a lot but managed to come back many times, so the final amount of points gained was (and is) not so bad.

Check out Ajax - over 4 goals scored each game while they have 47% clean sheets - that looks more than awesome. Follow more stats and btts tips here
