I think he will explode in La Liga.

I hope so. Otherwise his European prospects look grim. He just simply needs goals and to put up numbers. Doesn't matter as much how he gets them.
I truely hope both he and Oka-chan have a solid first season in La Liga. However, judging by past performances, Okazaki has a better chance of being useful to his team even if he doesn't put up goals.
    God speed.

I'm really curious. I don't really see him much of a "La-liga-like-player" honestly but would be delighted to be positively surprised.

I think that is sort of the point of Eibar getting Muto. Reportedly they need someone with pace and physical dynamism up front, which is what Yocchi would bring. He should get playing time, which is the most important thing.

Mendilibar says that Eibar originally wanted to bring in Muto last December.

Muto started again yesterday, and this time he played as a lone-striker.

This time he had an improved performance compared to his first match, specially when it came to developing harmony with his teammates.

He had two clear-cut goal scoring chances in both halves; in the first one he recieved a through pass from Inui after a lovely dribble by Inui on the left-flank, but the goalkeeper managed to save it, and in the second he had a wider-range on goal but somehow fluffed his shot and it went wide.

He was subbed out later in the second half as one of Eibar's CMs was sent off, and the head coach needed to sub out Muto in favour of a more defensively-oriented player.

So far, doing well in terms of off-the-ball movements and link-up plays with his teammates. He is doing well too when it came to physical challenges, but he was went down easily when he was challenged from behind by Valladolid's CB El-Yamiq, if he did not went down he would have a 1-on-1 chance against Valladolid's goalkeeper.

Muto and Inui are both continuing their great form for Eibar this season.

Tonight's match against Real Madrid was a rollercoaster as both sides had 9 shots each. Muto caused Real Madrid's defence many troubles, beating both Varane and Sergio Ramos.

Muto missed 3 scoring opportunities as his shots went few inches wide in each of them. He almost earned Eibar a PK as his passing attempt inside the penalty area was blocked by Sergio Ramos' hands, but no penalty given.

Inui on the other hand, delivered 3 goal threatening chances, with 2 of them being saved greatly by Real Madrid's GK, and the third was a cross into the penalty box which was missed by Muto due to miscommunication between the Japanese duo.

Muto showed huge amount of self-confidence, energy, physical hold-up play, and very good positioning.

    Muto and Inui's highlights:

Muto starts while Inui is being rested on bench. Muto opens the scoring after 14min. Played until 75min.

Muto and Inui started against Atléti, and Yocchi won an early penalty which was expertly dispatched by Eibar keeper Dmitrovic, lol.

Their default PK taker Edu Exposito wasted 1 or 2 PKs recently, so it seems they were practicing PKs recently and saw that the GK is the team's best PK taker.

    Muto assisted Eibar's equaliser.

His hold-up play is remarkably improven since joining Eibar, and he shall be an option for Japan NT, as this aspect was one of main two weaknesses, and he managed to offset it lately.

1 goal in 22 games, sigh.
Had a bad feeling, I think this league suits more technical players, with Muto being a more a physical one. Oh well, curious to see where they land him...

He is injured. This is why he did not play for a while.

Its bad yes . Hade some really good games though. But of course its not enough. To bad it went downhill after Germany. And always being injured not helping.

Actually feel bad for Eibar. Been a good team for many years but now they are so bad. Will go down to Segunda. And I bet both Muto and Inui will leave.

Should have stayed at FSV Mainz for at least 1-2 more seasons, he was pretty decent there.
