Fabio Celestini is the new manager at Lugano. He joins former MNT player M Yakin (Sion) as the newest managers in the RSL.

At this point, I can't tell who's going down. Xamax seem likely candidates, but then there's the craziness that is Sion, a GCZ side that is so frequently hot and cold, and then there's Lugano, and they look to be in turmoil. Funny thing is that Luzern would be joint bottom with Xamax without their win over YB, so I don't know. What I do know is that YB has already pretty much won this thing after the first quarter of the season. Basel will still wind up finishing second, and then it's between Zurich, FCSG, and Thun for the remaining places.
My favorite story from the weekend comes from the Sion - Xamax match. CC tried to make a dramatic entrance in Neuchatel and arrived on helicopter. This landed on a soccer field not too far from La Maladiere, but when he tried to exit the field, it like many Swiss urban areas is surrounded by a high wire fence, and the gate was locked! The pictures are here.
From the Xamax-Sion match... Brace yourselves, here's the pass of the season.Bastien Toma takes out 9 (!) Xamax-players with a perfectly weighted no-look through ball. A sensational pass from the 19-year old. pic.twitter.com/IeTiGJTVwr— Oliver Zesiger (@aulit_z) October 8, 2018

GCZ dead last on goal differential. They're just not scoring goals. Hard to believe that Sion is tied for the bottom. They've been better than their record indicates. Basel is the worst second place team I think I've ever seen. They switch off at the worst possible times. They got super lucky to win that game on Sunday. They've conceded a goal in their last 17 games. That's pretty outrageous. Thun/Xamax was great fun. Thun has been pretty fun to watch all year. Good to see them shaking off their economic troubles of the last few years.
