Both Michigan and Miami should be filled by the first of next week. Heard a couple of mid major female HCs have been to Miami. No clue on Michigan.
Which female coach from the A10? Aren't there only 4 female head coaches in that conference? George Washington, Saint Louis, VCU, and Rhode Island. Which one got it? If I had to guess it would be the Saint Louis coach or the George Washington coach.
My guess is Lindsey Martin. She went for W&M and her VCU tweets have been quiet for a week. This would be the only one I'd say is a bad move. Far-flung and private Miami is unwinnable in ACC while public and cheap VCU leaves her opportunity to land a closer to I-95 corridor ACC, SEC job.
Hmm, i reviewed GW's bio ole and soccer1212, you are likely right. She'd be looking and on the radars, and as I said, I think ambitious Lindsey would know enough not to leave VCU for Miami.
http://hurricanesports.com/news/201...rah-barnes-named-miami-head-soccer-coach.aspx Official now Sarah Barnes to Miami. GW now open. Miami has made poor decisions in recent years but this is a good hire. Expect them to finish ahead of Pitt, Syracuse, Louisville, and Boston College and make the tournament in 2-3 years. Have to do some rehab after the MFM era but can see Miami doing well in time.
I'm not sure what it might mean for Pittsburgh in other sports, but is it a coincidence that the WoSo re-vamp came only after the new AD was appointed less that a year ago? And looking at the make up of the senior athletic department at Pitt, the new AD brought three key associates with her from Eastern Michigan. These would include the Deputy Athletic Director and an Executive Associate Athletic Director. New AD Heather Lyke has also appointed another new Executive Associate Athletic Director (from Cincinnati) Of the 11 top staff only two have been there more than two years. Is it normal to clean house in this manner when a new AD comes in? Might this mean that other changes will be forthcoming with other sports?
I’m sure he probably realizes that in this day and age you cannot get away with hooking up with athletes. Quick and easy way to get canned.
http://www.sacredheartpioneers.com/sports/w-soccer/2017-18/releases/20180227p5448p Sacred Heart open. She was there 13 years, short statement about her departure so who knows what happened there. Changes continue
Let's see if this ends the Notre Dame conversation. I guess everyone now know the reason she left...http://www.goseattleu.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=18200&ATCLID=211702810
I'm not sure that what you are implying is true. I for one am inclined to take people at their word unless there is a serious disconnect. If she simply came to the realization that raising two little girls as they got older properly demanded more time of her than her schedule as the head soccer coach allowed, then she knew she had to do the right thing and quit. So she openly did that 5 and a half weeks ago. Then she and her husband could have decided that they wanted to move back to the Seattle area where she grew up and had family and he went looking for a job there and found one which was announced today. That seems logical to me. If you are implying that her husband had a job lined up and then persuaded her to quit to support his career, none of us know that to be true. And given that, why disbelieve her straightforward statement which might actually represent how it all came about, or is cynicism what this thread is all about?
