Tenerife put out a press release to address the wild rumors in the local media. http://www.clubdeportivotenerife.es...en-el-proceso-de-adaptacion-de-gaku-shibasaki
Well, they "addressed" them acknowledging that something is going on at least... anxiety issues, eh? Hopefully he sorts it out
I can't understand this. What seems to be the problem? Anxiety about missing home? I don't understand. Why then should he accept the move in first place?
It's not like anxiety is something that you expect before man. You're putting it too rational. It might be pressure, feeling alone, different food, language barrier, a mix of things.
Agree with you. If you know yourself good you can feel stuff like this coming. But going home before it even start is kind of bad. Lets wait for more information. Also these things can make teams think one more time before they get a japanese player they like.
I think it's the job of the agent to ensure that the player has the right people around him if needed (family, translator, cook, etc) and is prepared for what he's getting into. A Roberto Tukada seems to be his agent (anybody know more about him?), and aside over a dozen players in Japan the only player abroad he represents seems to be Nagatomo.
This has to be the capper on idiotic pointless European transfers. Nihon no sakka wa mo dame. I'm done. I'm just done. They have ********ed things up on a psychological and sociological level so deeply that there is no coming back. Japanese soccer as a meaningful independent entity has ceased to exist. There are countries that have joke national leagues (eg, the Netherlands), and countries that have joke national teams (eg, England), but Japan is the only major country where they are both jokes, and not only that, jokes that are becoming more ludicrous and less funny with every passing year. The JFA is run by idiots, the J-League is run by idiots, the players are idiots, and the fans are idiots. I've decided to just forget the last decade and remember Japanese soccer in its golden years at the turn of the millennium. I'm going to bust out my old match tapes and live in the past, when there was vision and hope and enthusiasm and honor. Farewell BigSoccer Japan forum. You won't miss me and I won't miss you.
Of course it is. The agent appears to be there now but still, yeah. Tukuda (or Tsukuda) is the most famous agent in Japan. He also represents Okazaki, and is still Shunsuke Nakamura's agent, and Manabu Saito's agent. The thing is, he's very good at getting the top players, but most of his players - like Nagatomo - received offers from the clubs, so he didn't have to do anything. He barely placed any himself, couldn't place Saito since forever and Shibasaki, well, he is where he is (as a free agent). @ Oneiro: lmao, kinda appropriate I guess. Too bad Kakitani was sucking in Jleague too that year anyway
Gaku Shibasaki ya regresó a Tenerife. En los próximos días está previsto que se ejercite con sus compañeros.— CD Tenerife 🏴 (@CDTOficial) February 22, 2017
http://www.nikkansports.com/soccer/world/news/1784443.html damn Inui chimed in hard, I guess Sergio made one of his articles...
I heard the club made him see a psychologist because he wasn't showing up for training for "stomach ache" and they were basically calling bullsh!t.
