France are out, 1-2 loss vs Italy. Didn't see the match but by looking at the stats, it seems like an even match (more or less) Now Italy vs Zambia in the quarterfinals
lol, it's incredible that after all these years...people still don't understand that Italy is the worst opponent you can find in the knock out stages. Probably the only national team that can upset stronger teams on paper, on a regular basis.
If you know how to defend, you know how to win. It's as simple as that. That's why Italy is always consistent in these tournaments. On the other hand, we don't know how to defend (other than in 2002). We don't know how to cultivate defenders. Hence, we don't know how to win.
Exaclty, we win when we play "our way", defending and countering. We are masters in both aspects, in a good day. I think the easy group was a disadvantage for France. Personally i always want to face a tough opponent in group stages.
That's what I found on Japan BS : "France about to choke against this weak Italian team makes me think we could have won the tournament with a valid striker. Not out of the realm of possibilities." He seriously falls under the purview of psychiatry.
Weak compared to the big dogs yes (France, Uruguay etc)...i hope he meant like that, cause weak compared to Japan or weak in general...well... Btw the biggest prospects in this Italy teams are, guess what? Defenders (central backs)
He said Japan could have won the tournament so most of the teams (Italy included, "which should be thankful than Japan let them 1 point in group stage", wtf) are lower than Japan. Anyway... Italian goalies are great prospects too.
Italy played well. Very disciplined defense played a big part. France may have been a more talented team, but at this stage, like I said before, it's all about the team organisation, and it showed. I'm looking forward to watching Zambia vs Italy. I think the Zambians have been the most entertaining team to watch so far, and to see them against the Italians, who have held well at the back vs France, should be a good contest. But against weaker teams .
Uruguay U-20 midfielder Federico Valverde is accused of making a racist gesture following his goal against Portugal. #U20WC pic.twitter.com/hie7IgCjUq— Korea Football News (@KORFootballNews) June 4, 2017 there's probably going to be zero repercussion.
Prob inferiority complex rooted in the fact that it's his first to an Asian country and it's heaps more developed than his own.
Nico #50 @nico1205r 2h2 hours ago Replying to @KORFootballNews This celebración is dedicated to his agent (https://mobile.twitter.com/chino14carbone ), his nickname is "chino". Sorry for the misunderstanding I think this is the reason. Otherwise can't seen any other reason to do that. Nothing racist.
Yea but he is still referring to Asians, as Chino means China in Spanish. So he is still making a racially intolerant remark.
