As expected 4 Red Stars make the USWNT to play in the Tournament of Nations: http://www.ussoccer.com/stories/201...s-23-players-for-tournament-of-nations-roster And how about this? I am more excited about this than anything else: This kid deserves this. Those of us who go to Red Stars games know how hard she works and how much passion she has.
As I wrote on the Tournament of Nations thread, I am not sure: about three weeks ago Yuki Nagasato wrote on her Twitter account that she's now ok, she recovered from her recent injury and she's cleared up to play. I don't know why she didn't see the pitch nor the bench yet. Meanwhile, she's not been called in NT for the upcoming tournament, but this is anyway understandable, since she's not played a single minute in the last months. I want to see her debut with Red Stars, I hope this can be the right week-end.
Maybe waiting until they return home (finally!) tomorrow after four straight away games! I will be at the game - Alex Morgan and Marta visit our team - should be entertaining game!
PIGS ARE FLYING! HELL HAS FROZEN OVER! As I was driving to work this morning a Chicago radio station announced the game between the Red Stars and Pride for tomorrow. I almost passed out in my car!
Injury report says Sam Johnson is out with a concussion and Julie Ertz is questionable due to illness. Oh boy, not good!

Press, Press, Christen Press! That's all I have to say. Red Stars move into first place, for now. http://equalizersoccer.com/2017/07/22/press-brace-leads-chicago-to-another-victory-over-orlando/ I thought I heard our supporters singing "who the h_ll is Alex Morgan, who the h_ll is Alex Morgan, who the h_ll is Alex Morgan, we've got Christen Press!" Awesome!

First of all, great to see and talk to Fanaddict today. He is a Fire and Red Stars supporters legend. Good to see you, man! Great game at Toyota park today. It was HOT and you can tell it had it's affect on the players as they walked into the tunnel at half time. Some of them were wobbling. Press, Press, Press!! What else can we say here in Chicago? You give her half a chance and she will put it into the net. Of course it helps to have Colaprico, DiBernardo and Huerta on your side feeding you perfect passes. Rory got ejected at half time. I still don't know what happened. Did he give the refs a hard time? Anyone know? The Red Stars started with a couple starters not available or on the bench. Sam Johnson has a concussion and Julie Ertz was ill. She came in,in the second half. Gilliland played left back instead of her usual right back spot, Casey short played in the middle with Naughton and Comeau played right back. Colaprico came out at half time, I think due to illness as well, I think. Lauren Kaskie got her first start and I thought she did well. Good crowd and lots of fun.
Very imPRESSed with how she plays, maybe the NT needs to give her the freedom the Fire give her. Rory was ticked off at the "no yellow card" on the big and obvious shirt pull, apparently said too much, and was informed in the tunnel at half time that he was gone. In the Portland v Washington game, there were two similar shirt pulls in the same location as your game, and the ref gave yellows to both. All three shirt pulls were before players reached the mid-field line, your announcers thought perhaps there was no yellow because of where the pull occurred. Either all three should have been yellows or none should have been. I go with "yes" on yellows.
Well, she always PRESSes on the pitch and she's even charming in PRESS conferences after the game... Ok, forget it!
I get the imPRESSion you are imPRESSed with our PRESSing PRESS! Side note: I am so hoping Norway flatten Denmark flat like a Danish pastry tomorrow If not, back to Fjordville
http://americansoccernow.com/articles/sofia-huerta-accepts-u-s-callup-fulfilling-a-dream Red Stars fans love Sofia Huerta and so do her teammates:
Nice little blog on one of my favorite players, Katie Naughton, who I hope one day will replace Becky Sauerbrunn as the Central Defender for the USWNT: http://backlinesoccer.com/unsung-hero-week-notable-naughton-chi-town
I didn't pay much attention to Naughton -- until I saw her play via streaming a couple of games for Adelaide in the Australian league last winter. I was impressed. She's got the height to be a domineering center back -- and she's doing well for Chicago this year..

Alyssa Naeher didn't have the best day in goal yesterday for the USWNT, but I've seen Hope Solo have a bad day or two in the past. Press and Julie come up big time for the Americans: https://twitter.com/OurGameMagazine
I just wanted our Red Stars players to get out of the Tournament of Nations in one piece. Little concerned about Julie Ertz. Hope she's OK.

Steph McCaffrey looked dangerous on at least a couple of shots and looked good, overall, which I was so pleased to see! Really wanted her to score!
