We may now have a technical director, or the guy who will hire one. Let the player signings begin! (but only good signings) BREAKING: Todd Dunivant has joined @SacRepublicFC as a consultant, focusing on football operations. Club spokesperson confirmed, but denied any talk of a future role change. #USL #MLS— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) December 6, 2017
Amusing tidbit from his wiki page... Dunivant was acquired by expansion side Toronto FC on June 27, 2007, in a trade for Kevin Goldthwaite.
BREAKING: Republic FC exercise options on Danny Barrera, Luis Espino, Elliott Hord, Wilson Kneeshaw and Carlos Rodriguez for 2018 @USL season. Welcome back, guys!READ | https://t.co/jlXXdmxblX pic.twitter.com/1B2ehtlS4c— Sacramento Republic FC (@SacRepublicFC) December 12, 2017
Happy that Barrera (experience and a leading assist man), Espino (potential) and Rodriguez (potential) are back. I'm okay with the return of Hord (can be slow to get back) and Kneeshaw (energy off the bench, not so much as a starter) if they are being brought back as depth.
ICS makes the case to re-sign Newton The article also mentions that Adam Moffat will be back (two-year contract?).
I can't disagree with re-signing Newton, but I can confirm that Buckle has NOT been distracted with his new duties....I have seen him numerous times in the last couple of months at a local coffee shop meeting with individual players - and having long conversations. I don't snoop, and I wouldn't say anything even if I knew what they were talking about....but my impression is that he continues to reach out to the players and keep them 'in the loop' during the off-season. Also, wasn't Bijiv on loan last year? Is it even possible to sign him?
Not exactly off-season news, but the home opener is March 17 (opening weekend) vs. San Antonio. http://www.uslsoccer.com/news_article/show/875213?referrer_id=2333971
Yes, as long as he stays on the senior squad... Told that Klimenta will not take up an INTL slot. Not confirmed, but that’s what I was told. #LAGalaxy #MLS https://t.co/MJMUSfaDF3— Corner Of The Galaxy (@GalaxyPodcast) January 14, 2018
Yeowch! Well, if the Galaxy are smart they would have Klimenta in the 18 at least; he can slot in at a few different positions. Him playing on LAII would be a travesty and a waste.
It's official: LA Galaxy sign defender Emrah Klimenta They included a nice little highlight reel but I wasn't able to embed it.
End of an era.. Klimenta was with us from the beginning, through good times and bad and mediocre.. Most minutes, most appearances, most starts, and was our captain. He was always one of, if not the best player on the field, so glad he's getting his shot in MLS. Will be the only Galaxy player I've ever rooted for. We're going to miss him on and off the field!
