928438131363377154 is not a valid tweet id Yikes, it must be hard living with such thin skin. I wasn't "trying to anonymously attack" you and I admired your work back in the day...you were my go-to source for Union news while you were at the Brotherly Game. The intention of my post was to make light of the hype that surrounded his arrival in comparison to how flat he fell at the Union. I was not trying to shatter someone's brittle self confidence. Now that you bring your article up, stating that he is "considered [one] of Costa Rica's brightest prospects" with "a stronger pedigree than Campbell", allows the inference to be drawn that you're surprised for him to be available for half the cost of Campbell.
FWIW, Scott, I don't remember your coverage that well, but I kind of think you suck based on the two times you've shown up on this forum acting like a diva.
Wow, such drama. Bringing life back to this forum! I like the Tweet like he had to lowered himself in 2017 (the horror!). It doesn't even make sense, if one only played 3 games and went to play in England (and really Europe because of constant loans) and the other one stayed in Costa Rica then is pretty clear who had the best pedigree from the get go. Unless of course playing for Saprissa is better than Olympiacos, Betis, or Villareal to name just a few. But I understand, I do. The argument that from 2009 through 2011 is 3 vs 66. But obviously Saprissa knew something and so did the rest because Arsenal signed him and Sevilla wanted him (all without playing!)
"I just posted on BIGSOCCER IN 2017 THE HUMANITY!" also "I search my name on BigSoccer in 2017" I mean no ill will (I appreciate everyone in the small, small community that covers/has covered this team!), but c'mon, the lady doth protest too much, methinks.
That's exactly what I thought. He makes such a big deal about coming onto the site and acts like he hasn't logged on in ages, but found out someone was "trying to crap on him" and logged on and posted a response in well under 12 hours.
I would like to know how the guy rates Gili vs Gini. On the one hand, one stars for Liverpool. On the other hand, one has spent far more time on developmental squads perfecting his game. Both made the difficult leap to play abroad. Tough call
....Our country is soooo screwed......... No wonder it's so difficult to hire new employees............this generation of college grads can't take criticism, always want a trophy, and doesn't want to roll up their sleeves and do what needs to be done.............ugh..... Oh, GET.OFF.MY.LAWN! Oh, yeah...and the Union are screwed too....
The Union need to decide what to do about Eric Ayuk. He was loaned to Jonkopings Sondra for the season. He made the bench 19 of 30 games, never started, subbed into 12 games and played a total of 176 minutes for a Swedish First Division team that got relegated*. Not sure that the loan was best for his development. http://us.soccerway.com/players/eric-ayuk-mbu/400697/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Allsvenskan *BTW, it's pretty cool how they do promotion/relegation in Sweden. The bottom two teams in First Division go down and the top two teams in Second Division go up. The 14th (3rd worst) team in First Division has a two game playoff with the 3rd place team from the Second Division to determine whether those teams swap divisions.
Cut day! Anyone interesting out there? Josh Gatt and Mike Grella are on the market, and if you're looking for a budget GK Chris Seitz and Brad Knighton are out there too.
IMO quality training is much more important than game time for talent development. But to play less than 2 full games as a sub is awful.
Boring.... the union will probably sign all 4 of them and call it an off-season. That being said Grella could be an interesting replacement for Pontius.
