Bruno Fernandes is gonna blow Gelson's game open. Takes the pressure of sole creator off of him. I think his biggest knock is decision making sometimes but with Bruno making passes to him like this all he's gotta do is use his pace+dribbling and make the easy pass from there.

Hoping Bruno keeps this up. Gelson usual excellent performance (when I see SCP) and Coentrão has not been bad either, he is a player that has to play regularly, in order to get the best out of him (like many players). Glad we all made it to the group stage. Now for the draw.
It's over! 5-1 win in Romania (first win ever in that country) and a group stage presence! We know we'll be in Pot 4 and have a tough draw, but if we play like this second half... who knows?
I think Dost needs honourable mention on this one. Steaua was threatening and looking comfortable after the half (since their goal, really). They had a couple solid chances. Dost was subbed in and they were never comfortable in our half again. Dost was coming back and harassing them winning the ball back. He was all the way back in our defensive 3rd winning the ball back on Gelson's goal. He changed the game IMO.
I missed the game on purpose on a superstitious fear of losing the tie if I watched it. It worked. Did my part. Viva o Sporting !!!

Amazing performance, Sporting played really well. I think we are probably currently the 2nd best team in Europe on current form after Real Madrid. BRUNO FERNANDES - first Portuguese midfielder Ive seen in a long time who seems to have an eye for the forward defense splitting ground pass. most of our midfielders just circulate the ball sideways and cross, this guy knows how to split the D... maybe the new Rui Costa? his one touch passing was impressive too. GELSON MARTINS - is it just me, or does he look like he gained muscle mass? He reminds me of Figo more now with his upper body strength. Hopefully he continues to rise. ACUNA, COENTRAO, BATTAGLIA, DOUMBIA - all look like great additions to the team.
