Wonder if Quisenberry will keep that assignment. He pulled up lame at some point in last weekend's game and Kevin Terry Jr. had to run the line (and also assist Quisenberry with the sub boards!). Can't imagine there was an injury minor enough for him to go down yet still be cleared for next weekend--but you never know.

Do you happen to remember when in the match that happened? I'd be interested to go back and watch that game

Looks like it happened when the Beasley injury happened (roughly 10th minute)

    - I don't know what happened to Salazar, but Stoica was in charge, and lets just say maybe he wasn't prepared as it was a forgetful afternoon for him really? he never had control of the game, allowed kaka get away with pretty much a punch, and the eventual red card was coming all night as Mateos had about 3 or 4 2-footed sliding tackles he got away with. Biggest bad decision was to not give the Union a penalty though - I know he tried to play advantage, but was there really an advantage? (and surely he could have taken it back as many seem to be doing now?)

(can check out some of it here :- http://www.phillysoccerpage.net/201...analysis-orlando-city-2-2-philadelphia-union/ )

You can make a very strong argument that three of Orlando's yellows (Kaka, Carrasco and Higuita) should have been red. In fact, I find it difficult to argue that the latter two are not red (Kaka seems red personally, but I see some grey area there where I see none for Carrasco and Higuita). Then you've got Higuita trying to physically prevent Stoica from giving the red to Mateos.

I don't usually comment on teams wholesale, but the culture in Orlando just seems out of control. They are acting like misbehaved amateur players rather than professionals. Absolutely everything is the referee's fault in their eyes, yet they are actually getting away with far more than they should. I hope the DisCo comes down hard on some of these incidents individually and some of the protests and referee crowding generally.

Seattle tended that way early on too. Sigi was a stabilizing influence there, and they were winning, so things kind of cooled down. But remember how in that first season, every game in Seattle was a referee nightmare?
I wonder if some of it is the transition from A-league/USL and the kind of mentality it takes to win there...that might create a culture, and even if 80% of the players are different, its hard to change the culture. In Orlando's case, its rough to go from big dog to dog house--or at least the middle of the pack.

Also, in Orlando's case, they are internationally diverse. I'd be surprised if even 1/3 of their roster was from the US, and their American star is Brek Shea...so that is a "complicated" locker room for sure.

Unfortunately the DisCo is as much of a mess as it's always been. So, I wouldn't hold my breath.

Well I haven't watched all of their matches, but it appears this is the first time a ball has hit the sky cam at Children's Mercy Park (home of SKC). As they published earlier this year, the restart was a drop ball where the ball his the camera.

We have all had bad days... Especially if we are not focused. I have been there! That is east I take away from the Philly website clips
Unfortunately the failure of red on Carrasco sorts told Orlando...that they can be douchey all night. Then stoica lets higuita come back to chew out Letoux...and doesn't assert his presence at all
So stoica give advantage on the play where the Philly player was fouled or didn't see vs penalty to begin with?
If it was the first one...what would be his reasoning?

Chaotic sequence here that Conlee (I believe) should get credit for nailing:

    http://matchcenter.mlssoccer.com/ma...ids-vs-philadelphia-union/details/video/66964

Based on his positioning it appears the AR is calling the offside on the cross. Looks like he's ruling (correctly) that Doyle, who was offside on the cross, played the ball by making an attempt even though he didn't make contact. I also felt he could have ruled Doyle offside on the shot given his proximity to Philly's keeper who was trying to make the save.

Horrible hand ball called in New England for a pk.

First, the attempted clearance hits the player in the gut.

Second the play needs to be intentional. The defender hit with the clearance had very little time to react and WHY would they try to stop a powerful clearance from leaving the box?

If you slow down the replay, it might have grazed Friberg's elbow as the ball appears to slightly change direction downwards around that area before hitting him in the midsection. Very hard to spot, as I didn't see anything the first time either.

Even if that was the case, it's obviously a play-on.

Here's the explanation for the call:

Here are my problems with that play.

The ball was hitting Friberg regardless where his hands are.
The time to react was very minimal.
I need to go back a watch the replay, but I think the ref was nearly directly behind Friberg and wouldn't have seen where it hit. His response doesn't say his AR spotted the contact... so does he have X-ray vision?
There is no logical reason for Friberg to prevent a clearance.

When everything is considered there is no way it was an intentional handball.

Orlando at NYC - Ball don't lie!!!

Gonzales gave a pk on a borderline handling call. Orlando player hit the ball as he fell. On the subsequent kick, David Villa slipped as he kicked and skied the ball over the goal.

That Veron red card for the 2 footed bunny hop is still one of most hilarious 'tackle' I've seen in a long time. (TFC @ NYRB)

The Vernon red card (NYRB) by Chapman...I am totally in agreement with that decision. I also can't help but wonder if Chapman would have given it last month, or if the "time off" influenced that decision. Looked like he reached yellow first, but then properly went red.
