Of course I'm not joking. It is a bit shortsighted but him already playing in Colombia is a bit of an advantage.
The BIG question really is: the players in Europe, are they starters or habitual bench-warmers, are they playing in important clubs, not just the "B" teams? Is worth to note that the majority of Colombian players are getting good playing time with their First Division clubs and the "foreign legion" of Alvaro Montero (San Lorenzo, ARG), Jherson Vergara (Livorno, ITA), Juan Fernando Quintero (Rennes, FRA), Roger Martinez (Racing Club, ARG) and Andres Renteria (Santos Laguna, MEX) are also getting a lot of minutes with their clubs. The other factor to take into account is the brutal temperature and humidity at game time, Barranquilla is well known as a sauna and players from both sides must be in top physical and mental shape to face those conditions. I expect a dynamic and close encounter, can't wait!!
So what time is this game really? ussoccer.com says 6 Eastern, while my onscreen guide for both FS1 and UDN show 5 Eastern, and Fox Sports website agrees with my onscreen guide.

It hasn't been that kind of hot here yet and knowing about it and being able to play in it are different. Big advantage to Colombia. If it was August it would be a wash.
Even Miami the last few weeks can't emulate the 91 degrees that is expected on Friday. If Colombia keeps possession and the US chases it could get ugly. If Morris on a counter or someone on a set piece can knock in a road goal early things could get very interesting.
And I will say in this thread what I have been parroting in every thread... ....I think Colombia's manager is horrible so the US has a chance because of that factor alone. (No matter what the weather is like.)
Just to add to the confusion, Wikipedia says 3:30 local time, which is 4:30 ET. Though the source for that is over 6 weeks old. USsoccer also has an article from a few days ago saying 5 ET. And mlssoccer has a more recent one saying 6pm ET too. Maybe what happened is the US and Colombia were in the same timezone when the time was announced, but they factored in the hour forward we'd move prior to the game itself. Then when we actually did move forward an hour, some dumbasses added another hour to it thinking it hadn't been done already. That's the only explanation I can think of anyway. I'd be inclined to trust the guide over anything else, since I doubt there's an hour long pre-game and I can't think of an instance where a TV channel has messed up and wound up with an hour long gap with nothing on.
Yup. Just crazy this day and age we have some confusion as to what the time will be. And the USA's official site can be completely wrong. Come on now.
