Starts today. He also played the whole match last week in the 1:0 win at St. Pauli. Hosogai didn't make the bench last time, today he's on there. Squad is more competitive since the transfer window as 4 players that seldomly played were replaced by 4 young players with plenty potential, among them one for DMF (Ebenezer Ofori, the others being Julian Green, Josip Brekalo and Jérôme Onguéné). Edit: Did the first shot of the match after a fine counter attack in 9th min. Edit2: Asano very lively so far. VfB already one up and Asano setting up Großkreutz whose shot is blocked in 14th min.
Had two more good shots and played the whole match as VfB wins 2:0 against Düsseldorf. With this VfB is leading the 2. Bundesliga again. No minutes for Hosogai.
Hope he stay with Stuttgart next season if Arsenal wanna keep him out on loan. Think they gonna reach B1.
Seems to have settled in well. Mon frère @AsaTaku29 😂👏🏼🇯🇵💪🏼 pic.twitter.com/MgFVunwAKm— Benjamin Pavard 5 (@BenPavard28) January 14, 2017
Started and played 65 min in the 2:1 win against Sandhausen, VfB now leading 5 points ahead of 2nd Braunschweig (Hannover will play tomorrow).
Since the arrival of Julian Green, VfB has been playing a 4-1-4-1 with Asano playing a central attacking midfield role. Presumably this is to get Terodde (14 goals) plus the 3 young attackers (Asano, Green, Mané) on the field at the same time. http://www.stuttgarter-nachrichten....bel.3fea3087-c842-4c27-84fa-bc02531267e6.html
Great for him, this was also the first time in 9 games that he was allowed to play through the whole match.
Starts against promotion rivals Union Berlin. VfB leads 2-0 at halftime, with Asano creating a number of chances using his blistering pace and stepovers to repeatedly beat his marker on the left side.
They won B2. Would be a good idea if he stayed to play in Bundesliga next season. Scored 4 goals this season.
The VfB management has commented that they are working on keeping Mané and Asano. Unclear whether that means loan extensions or permanent deals, but I imagine both will be on the table.
