It's fascinating to see how comfortable Uruguay is with playing a deep back line. We're not exploiting the space in between the lines they're giving us as well as we should in midfield on counterattacks.

No, I think Korea has beaten Uruguay a couple of times in youth matches. Namely 1983 Youth World Cup quarter finals.

I think that's just because they're tired from just arriving in Korea. They arrived either today or yesterday.

It's the same guy that sucked against Ecuador

Edit: so, I'm happy for him. Will be a huge confidence boost!

Positives: Very well drilled midfield, reminiscent of the 2013 U-20 squad.

Negatives: Terrible defence. Very lucky to come away with a clean sheet.

The midfield was better than anything we've seen from the senior KNT side during Ulishit's reign of poo... I wish BSH played more centrally than on the right until LSW was substituted. That way LSW can be more effective in his roaming role.

I'm just shocked by the level of hesitation we saw in the defenders at playing 3 in the back. On 2v1 counterattacks, both central defenders would look at each other without saying anything and hesitate thinking the other would take care of business. They need to drill that hesitation out of them.

Lastly, on set pieces, all you heard was Spanish from the pitch. None of our kids were talking to one another. If we were actually good at zonal marking, I wouldn't be half as concerned. But we were static on set piece defending. And the man-children from Uruguay were picking us apart with mismatches.

Maybe it was LSW and PSH talking to each other?

    I'm just kidding.

Last friendly against Senegal ends 2-2

Goals from Cho Young-wook and Baek Seung-ho.

Our set piece defending is definitely our weakness.

Always the same story. Typical korean defender: very tall, slow as ********, weak as ********, tactically clueless and so on.

Korean football has a serious problem in the development of young defenders, and i don't understand why every young defender must be very tall.

Tall defender doesn't always translate to a good defenders.

jang hyunsu isnt tall neither is kim juyoung. lee sangmin, the guy next to the 'tall guy' aka jung taewook isnt tall. a lot of problems with developing defenders but only looking at height isnt one of them. pretty stupid thing to say actually. who doesnt look for physical length in defenders. coaches dont play a kid at defence because he was the shortest child

Cho Yong-hyung isn't tall but he was once a skilled CB we've had during the Huh Jung-moo era.

Senegal was a very physical team. Set pieces, physicality is an issue with this team. I don't know why Korea sucks with defense so much.

What's weird is that our U-20 has been training together for a month now, unlike any other U-20 teams, yet our set piece defending seems to be worse than teams who has been together for few days.
