This will be a quicker prediction with only 2 games. Of course that doesn't mean it's easier. I'll go with: England 2 Japan 1 Germany 2 USA 1 (Possible OT or PKs)
Japan 1-0 England... Japan just controlling teams. They don't win by more because their culture is about control USA 1- 0 Germany ... Close game. But we win off of another Rapinoe pass. Final: USA Japan 1-0 Abby Wambach header (cause Americans are just too damn tall)
You could say that about England since Japan has nobody that can mark Scott, the defenders, and the strikers in the air. England have scored off of a set piece in each of their last 3 games.
What I think but not what I want to happen Germany 2 USA 0 - Ellis starts Lloyd, Holiday and Wambach dooming USA Japan 2 England 0 - Japan dominates possession as always Japan 2 Germany 1 - Japan peaking and Germany will be tired
I don't care if it's predictions I'm going to say what I WANT to happen USA 2:0 Germany England 3:2 Japan Final USA 1:0 England
Japan-England 1-0 Germany-USA 3-2 Subsequently: Japan-Germany 1-0 Oh, Japan scoring with two different players than the 7 that already scored Japan's 7 goals (let's say Kawasumi vs England and Sawa in the final vs Germany).
I can't believe all these predictions for Japan to beat England. Don't you realize Japan has no answer to England's size? England's height advantage will be HUGE on set pieces and inside the penalty area.
Japan quite always plays against teams taller than them. Often against teams way taller than them. You know what? They use to win a lot of these games, no matter opponents' "height advantage"...
I was thinking about that too for their opponents before the WC, but Japan always seem to find a way, but that's not why I think they'll lose. England will also be the quickest and most aggressive team Japan will faced and we're more battle tested too (France, Colombia, Norway, Canada). Also I won't be surprised if some people just want Japan to beat England.
England 2-1 Japan Germany 1-1 (5-3 Pks) USA Final - Germany 2-0 England England will beat Japan on heart and height Germany will beat the US in PKs. The US will score only 3 largely due to the lack of finishing rather than Angerer's ability. Germany will win the final though experience/ability to cope with pressure.
If Jill Ellis somehow gets smarter by even a notch, then the US beats Germany in a close game. If Jill Ellis stays just as dumb and clueless, then Germany beats the US in a close game. Jill Ellis is the x-factor. England beats Japan if they score on a set piece. England loses to Japan if they don't score on a set piece. Set piece is the x-factor.
If England attack enough then they will get some pieces. I hope they don't go all route 1 and just boot the ball downfield thinking they will win every header.
