Prescient, based on this morning's news. http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-...ts-sites-face-questions-about-games-integrity Dateline was yesterday but this a.m. they had more about this: "Updated 9:45 p.m. ET with state attorney general investigation"
Well, I don't feel too bad about poor attendance for the US U-23's...the stadium is pretty empty for Mexico-Honduras, too.
CV is having a rough game. Poor defending on the goal and got easily beat on a header barely avoiding a 2nd. First game I've seen this tournament and they don't look very cohesive. Wow, CV gets beat again leading to another chance. I've seen him before and he looked like a monster defender. This game, horrible so far.
Mastroeni level managing from Herzog. No mobility or physicality in the midfield, teenagers vs. men, then taking out Hyndman and Gil? Also, pretty sad show of support from Salt Lake. The Dick wasn't packed, but Rio Tinto looked completely empty.
what a poor example and display of soccer. I thought the Hyndman change was odd as well. I thought he was one of the few U.S. players who looked like they belonged on the field.
CV? Sad, sad show of support from SLC. Our attendance wasn't great but it was better than some Rapids games I've been to. At least that's another reason for us to get any WCQ they want to play at altitude over SLC.
USA v Mexico - absolutely electric! This has developed into such a massive and vicious rivalry. Wish I was at the Rose Bowl tonight. How many matches around the world would draw 90k frenzied fans for an international?
fyp (imo) Our only genuine hope was to string it along to kicks from the mark, amazing and sad that Mexico could dominate us and still look bad.
Why the hell did I watch the US-Costa Rica game. I blame the Rapids of the last two years breaking my expectations of what a soccer game should look like.
Jose Mari started for Levante against Real Madrid today. I wonder if he shows guys videos of his two golazos vs Vancouver.
Too much fun not to post, even though 20% of this IS Rapids related. MLS posted the video of the 10 quickest goals from kickoff in MLS history. It brings back fine memories of the lightning strikes from Casey and Brown.
Any Rapids fans care what happens in the CCL next spring? Personally I'll root against Seattle and RSL. Slightly for DC United and Galaxy, although I do like Santos Laguna ever since they killed us here in Denver. For quick reference: Tigres - RSL Queretero (never heard of them) - DC United LA Galaxy - Santos Laguna Seattle - Club America
So...the Copa Centenario is really on? This article says US Soccer will pick the venues. Does Mile High/Sports Authority have a chance? I imagine the ticket prices will be exhorbitant.
Bridges have yet to be burned with others, I don't know if there's enough time in life to wait around for the representative Dorados troll. He took parting shots like a total bitch. I'd rather read WJ Marx open love letters to Oscar.
