I may be the only one who enjoys these

    Regular Season Finish:
    5th in the west
Playoffs: Fall to Seattle in the conference semi-finals
    Team MVP: Juninho
    Most Surprising Player: Maganto
    Most Disappointing Player: BJIV
    Golden Boot: Zardes
    Assist Leader: Keane
    CCL: Qualified for the knock-outs
Narrative: Typical slow start. Strong finish not enough to get anything this season. A rebuilding year.

    Western Conference Champion: Seattle
USOC: Orlando City (I think they take a page from the Chelsea/Seattle playbook and go all out for a trophy season one)
    Supporters’ Shield: New England
MLS Cup Final: Seattle v New England
    MLS Cup Winner: Seattle
    First Sacked: Vanney
NYCFC: 5th place in the East, knocked out in the conference finals
Orlando: 6th place in the East, knocked out in the play-in game

    Orlando invents soccer.

    Sigi gets fired.

Dallas is going to knock us out and win The Cup.

    I have a mental breakdown.

Thanks for creating this @dashiel. I suck at these, but I think your predictions make sense.*

*As in I want to hurl at the Seattle parts of the predictions, but I get them.

I will do my predictions at some point today when I have a little time to think about them. :)

Come on where’s the fun in that. No one is good at these things, at best people get lucky. Even the Vegas oddsmakers, supposed professionals, are laughably off naming LA as favorite to repeat as champions.

I'm a little more optimistic (or delusional) but mostly I agree.

Same prediction as always. We'll start slow, everyone will lose their marbles and want everyone fired, we'll spend the late summer and fall pulling it together, and then we'll either finish our chances in playoff home legs and win the cup, or we won't and lose. Welcome to Bruce Arena soccer.

Maybe I should have added a "season starts on" and "missed games will be cancelled or rescheduled"

I predict we will finish the regular season somewhere between 2nd and 9th in the WC. So there!

That's about as accurate as I can put it for three reasons:

    1. It looks like more parity than ever in the Western Conference. There is no Chivas and Colo should be improved and the top half of our league has improved with the addition of SKC and Houston.
    2. The loss of LD and Sarvas will hurt us, there is no doubt about that. The question is how much will it hurt us? It's not clear now. Depends on the extent to which our youngsters will step up which is pretty unpredictable.
    3. I haven't kept up with the acquisitions and losses for the rest of the teams. Has Seattle improved their squad over the off-season? What has Colorado done besides add Sarvas? I don't know. Same for SKC, Dallas, and the rest of them. I haven't kept track so I just don't know.

I do know that - barring injury - Keane will be the MVP again.

I would be curious to hear others opinions on which teams improved the most in the offseason (other than NYCFC and Orlando :)) and which teams have lost the most in terms of personnel (other than LA :(). Guess this should go in the other teams section though, so I'll move over there.

If they cram games from the beginning of the season into the middle because of a strike, I think our old age as a team will hit us harder. I think we do horribly through mid-season, squeak into the playoffs while we start to gel but, like 2013 after losing Beckham, we won't have enough time to pull it together especially with SG coming so late into the season.

Conversely more games with a rested(ish) Stevie G could see LA benefit from the strike. Throw in the possibility of bigger budget for mid-season acquisitions and … well despite my rather pessimistic view of the season nothing would be funnier than Gerrard scoring the series winner against Seattle in the playoffs and all the little Leprechauns melt down in the “unfair their DP had a break when ours didn’t”

I’m not sure Colorado’s owners care enough to fire him, and if they did who would they replace him with? They basically have Pablo because they couldn’t get anyone last season.

You're right, but Pablo was so particularly bad last year, that another start in the cellar could mean the end.

Another thought I had was Caleb Porter. The west is going to be really tough, and if they start out slowly, the pressure could be on him early. Then they'll go for Bob Bradley :D

I wouldn't sleep on Dallas. Young team, played Seattle even in last season's playoffs.

If it hadn't been for the bullsh__'Away Goals" rule, they would have....oh wait...never mind...

Interestingly, Stu Holden picked us to win again this year, as did Grant Wahl.

Well, statistically speaking, it's the safest pick in this decade.....

Not bad, prediction-wise, though looks like we’ll fall to Seattle in the play-in game not the QF.

Yeah that Dashiel guy was pretty smart. You should give him some rep.
