What Boston has to trade is a draft pick. If Chicago traded the #5 for Boston's #9 then Boston wouldnt need to add a great player just a medium one. If it were me and I could get Julie King and the #9 for the #5 Id do it. Of course on the Boston side, if this is just a ploy to guarantee they get McCaffrey it's a mistake.
Agree but I think they would like to get someone from A&M.Monogue might be available for them 4th round. She can be a great pick that round like Jackson last year.
I thought A&M players hated to where orange more than the Irish on St Patrick's day? Actually if they dont make a trade their best shot at A&M is Meghan Streight at #13
I think they would want an A&M player because of the fan base they have and it can increase ticket sales as the college is about 2 hrs. from the stadium
My 1st rd: HOU - Brian, SBFC - Killion, WNY - Mewis + Dahlkemper, CHI - Gilliland, WNY - Williams + Colaprico, CHI - Huerta, BOS - McCaffrey— Chris Henderson (@chris_awk) January 16, 2015
Streight helps them at CB tho not as much as Grubka would have. Im really starting to feel like Grubka is there at #10 and Houston blew it big time with the Ashley Nick deal.
I think the reason for the trade is that they were already not counting on Kyle and needed a starter at holding mid along with Bock.
Actually the first thing I thought of after Doh! was this is insurance for Bock who is always injured. Still, there is no bigger spot of need than CB unless they plan to play Bock in the back and start Nick as a DM
Klingenberg and the #13 pick for Chicago's #5 pick. Chicago would be crazy not to take that trade. Klingenberg can play outside back for them, and then they still get the #13 pick from Houston. That's a 2-for-1 trade that would benefit Chicago, and then they can still attempt to get Huerta or Groom at #8. >50% chance that one of those two attacking players will still be on the board at #8 overall. WNY has their eye on a lot of UCLA players, and possibly Colaprico over Groom.
Yes, I could easily see Grubka slip out of the first round, with nearly everyone having a lust for midfielders and attacking players in the first round. I think Gilliland goes before Grubka.
I also heard something interesting earlier. 1.) Morgan Brian 2.) Sarah Killion 3.) Samantha Mewis 4.) Abby Dahlkemper Based on what I know (if the information is accurate) there is a better than 50% chance the Top 4 will not go in that order, and there may be a little surprise in there. Drama could happen within the first 4 picks.
That's cause he's putting who he thinks will be picked, not who deserves to be picked. Ideally, I'd rather see Boston pick Grubka (they need better CBs and it would bring her and Kallman back together). But realistically, I expect they'll pick McCaffrey instead.
Courtney Jones is not a center back. Sorry I couldn't help myself. Each time I hear Boston and center back in the same sentence, this thread title pops in my head.
