Probably in case, say Lakers pick Russell, the Lakers could try to use Russell in a trade to get their pick back from us if we wind up with Okafor saying Embiid might miss time means theres more room for Okafor in Philly now. It does come off as a smoke screen though
It can be freak occurrences but imo I am really seeing a lot of weak lower body, core and fuctional strength or lack thereof in these young guys legs. Seems like leg training in general is cast aside for big arms and chest workouts.
I think it may be the cumulative effect of increased athleticism on the part of the average player. Between that and improved footwear, average NBA players are doing things physically today that you wouldn't have seen even 20 years ago, and talented HS players are doing the sort of things you saw only in the NBA 20 years ago. Guys weren't getting hurt like this in Kareem's day or before because the footwear of that day limited player's athletic ambitions- no NBA player would dare play today's high-flying game in a pair of Chucks. What probably hasn't changed --can't change as much, in any case-- is the ability of a bone to withstand this new level of athleticism. Lifting won't make bones significantly stronger.
I am suspended from posting in the playoffs thread, so I give my congratulations to the Warriors and their fans here. Although I am sure had one of Love or Irving played, Cavs would win the final. Onto next year now, I think we will have great season and if healthy will walk the nba. The second part of the season with everyone healthy Cavs played the best basketball.
Should fire Blatt though, he is horrible coach. Its more or less Lebron and Tyronn Lue coaching. I hope we go for Mark Jackson.
Its same nonsense, anyone who is point guard gets a coaching job. Whereas if your a center they think you dont understand the game. Cleveland should hire Patrick Ewing as coach.
Because he has been working his ass off for so long, and no one is giving him the opportunity. Why? Because he was a big, not a point guard. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/bias-a...thing---says-patrick-ewing-071128019-nba.html "There probably is a big man perception," Ewing told Yahoo Sports. "They think that all guards are the best thing. It's a guard-oriented league right now, but it is what it is."
The basketball IQ of smaller players is higher because it needs to be, if they want to succeed. Where as guys like Ewing, Shaq, Deandre Jordan, Dwight had most of their skill handed to them (reffering to their size and weight). PG's have to lead the whole team and know what the rest of the team have to do in order for them to score or defend. That's why I think their transition is easier.
Waliatiger is just upset the Kings ruin all of their prospects lmfao. Jk, don't threaten my family bro! Btw @thebigman love the new philly uniforms, they are sleek, if they can win more than 20 games I may get a Noel jersey or (hopefully) a Russell jersey hahaha
Why lol what did I say......... The 76ers units look too patriotic lol they are solid though look like legit throwbacks.
Man the kings have drafted like shit these last 9 years other then cousins. But we have been routinely screwed with many ownership and player personnel decisions but it isn't really getting better.
