lol. you think there were 34k butts in the seats for game 2 of the double header last year that set the "attendance record"?

Hey weiner where was the game located?

Who was running it United, Vikings, Gophers, SUM or promotional company?

I will give you a hint, it wasn't NSC.

whoa no need to drop the w bomb on me like that. the club and the league took that number and ran with it knowing it was inaccurate...

Just like every team ever has taken inaccurate numbers and run with them.

This is a non-issue. It's an inflated number. We all get it. Nobody has a problem with that. It was also a brilliant piece of marketing which did expose upwards of 30k people to the brand, even if all 30k didn't stay in their seats for five straight hours.

Hopefully a big crowd should be seen for the Cosmos tonight. They are having fireworks AND going back to the Pele well again by giving away free Pele bobbleheads!

Doesn't look packed at all for today's game!!! Unless the camera side is full, I'd say around 4K will be announced but that's pretty bad for all the promotions going on for this game.

Watching the match, actually looks like a good crowd and not 4K.

I just tuned in at about 50' and it looks very empty. It is becoming clear that something is broken here, and i'm not sure if Pele and going to Cuba can save it. They need to find a new venue.

Good crowd for Edmonton, sure. but not the Cosmos. By the way has anyone seen the crowd at Ft. Lauderdale today? Putting another team in Miami seems silly right now.

Good crowd for the D2 level, but the Pelé promotional power seems to have waned a bit. Also waiting for the Memorial Day excuse from the apologists.

Sure D2 but that's not what the Cosmos aspire to, is it? On a night were there isn't any other local sports team conflicting with your game plus a pele bobblehead night plus 55% off tickets and good weather but you only draw a little over 5K? That's terrible! They need to move or market better or something because this is bad.

Yeah, we'd love to have that 5K in Edmonton. With you on Miami FC, not a fan of NASL going into MLS markets and although Beckham's Miami Spice isn't official yet I expect it will be in the future. Too close to the Strikers as well.

I wonder if the NASL will be around in the years to come. Some of the decisions are head scratchers.

Not to mention the fireworks...those are a surprisingly expensive promotion.

Are fireworks really a draw at all?

Typically yes, they do draw people in.
Where were they sitting? The entire tv side looked empty to me.

Ft Lauderdale fans mainly sit on the camera side and endzones, they didn't even use the non camera side really last season. Plus its a 20K stadium.

This is an issue. There are only so many times NYC can pull these types of promos before they become white noise.

There is gonna come a time where it will just be about the soccer. I think they are getting there.

They seem to have a decent 4 to 5K base, but I'm not sure they will do much better any time soon the way things are.

As for Edmonton....wow. Did they have fireworks and a Peter Nogly bobblehead night?

Sometimes you have to take what comes your way.

    Sometimes you don't have options.
