Well I really hope they are able to sell out MCU park. The game comes on the heels of a sell out in LI in a bigger stadium, there will be a double header, it's in BK, everything points to a good turnout. If they don't sell out I would be disappointed.
Less than 500 tickets remain (as of 5:00 pm EST) for the Carolina @ Indy game despite less than stellar weather in the forecast for the game. Looks like another sell out.

Without that, their average is 3,613 and the league's is 4,502. Jacksonville has the league standalone record. I point this out because it seems to me that Edmonton can't go on like this indefinitely. With or without a supposed team in Calgary.
MLS kind of has the same issue, the older teams (galaxy excluded) tend to underperform compared to the newer teams. (I guess Red Bull also does well).
....and it is a long hard battle to get those fanbases excited again. Generational change, more acceptance of soccer and the legaues, aggressice front offices and ownership and time are all needed. It can be done, and has been done, but it ain't easy. Happy NYC is finally playing In Coney. Have said this is needed and important for a while now. If all goes well I would suggest playing half the matches there and haf in Hofstra.
No one's ever really successfully pulled off the half-and-half stadium deal, to my knowledge. (Outside of the Packers, I mean, which - in many respects and many arguments - are a special case.) Probably the most (in)famous was the Chicago Sting, who rotated games among three venues over time. From the always-great Fun While It Lasted: FWiL: What was the impact on the Sting on bouncing around between Wrigley, Comiskey and Soldier Field every year? Why couldn’t the team settle in one place? Doug Verb: The impact was that even the players got confused and would go to the wrong stadium on the wrong day. So how could the fans possibly know where we were playing? The two baseball teams didn’t want us at all. Lee Stern was a part-owner of the White Sox and he just kind of imposed his will to play at Comiskey. The White Sox were at least very cordial to us. But when I walked into Wrigley for the first time, the Cubs made it very obvious that we weren’t wanted there. Mainly for the reason of ‘you’re going to chew up the field’, which never happened. And Soldier Field was just too big. They were all too big. We put all the fans on the TV side, so one time (coach) Willy Roy’s sons sat all alone in a huge section of empty seats. We had them hold a sign saying “Willy Roy’s Fan Club”
A result of Ottawa's NHL Senators taking up all of the attention in town especially with their win last night and 2 nights earlier in their playoff series vs Montreal.
It appears the person who was combining all of the numbers and averages in a single post last year is no longer doing it. This makes me sad.
