Ram salutes the heroes of the Hunger Games? They are saluting the heroes of a fictional ****ing movie?!
I am seeing some amazingly dumb US defending and goalkeeping that isn't helping. ******** BALTIMORE!!!
I am not impressed by this goalkeeper. I read that and assumed the St Louis Rams. I'm not sure Dodge is any better. I also assume one of these videos I'm posting and not watching is a part one.
I was looking forward to the NASL "championship" (are we not calling it the Soccer Bowl anymore?) But it includes the Cosmos AND Shep is the color analyst. I don't know if I can take it.
So the NASL scheduled its final on an international date. Hence one team has a player missing on international duty. Super authentic ...
With Heinemann and Ubiparipovic as the key players, I feel like I've gone back in time to MLS 1.0 or 1.5
Seems your buddy has some thoughts. Unlike the Abu Dhabi owned Spanish run British club w/ a French coach down the road the Cosmos have real character and a local flavor.— Kartik Krishnaiyer 🇺🇦🌻⚽️ (@kkfla737) November 15, 2015 Many on Twitter think the New York Cosmos is the biggest & most authentic brand in American soccer. Tonight they have a chance to prove it— Kartik Krishnaiyer 🇺🇦🌻⚽️ (@kkfla737) November 15, 2015
"Biggest and most authentic brand in American soccer" - I'm not sure they can even top the Timbers, much less the Sounders, not to mention numerous others, in that regard.
O Canada, You gave up a cheap goal to the "biggest and most authentic brand" in American soccer. Seriously, Danny Szetela was key in that goal. That's how pathetic it was. Needless to say Shep is ecstatic.
Whenever I watch the NASL, that's how I feel. NASL 2015 = MLS 1996-99 Except not even that, because that era of MLS did have some special teams with no equivalent in today's NASL. Today's NASL is like an entire league of 96-99 Dallas Burns.
And need we comment about lacrosse lines on the pitch for a championship final? I can understand NFL lines, but lacrosse?
Yeah, I lurk in that thread. As someone who grew up with the NASL, I'd love to see it succeed - as a 2nd division. But when they do expansion such as Rayo OKC, in a city with a successful USL team, I really don't see the NASL as having much hope. At the same time they're trying to be the "equal" of MLS, they're going head to head with USL (and I have a feeling they're going to lose the OKC battle).
This is what you find when you look too far into the NASL Twittersphere ... If this promotion/relegation USA soccer banner hits 1,000 retweets another will fly over MLS Cup 2015. #ProRelforUSA pic.twitter.com/5VB4JSjxGO— Ben Fast ⚽️ 🇺🇸 🔺🔻 (@bwfast) November 15, 2015 Yeah, you have fun with that.
After tonight the Cosmos will have 7 titles. Red Bulls/Metros & Bronx Blues will have zero. Unless you count shields.— Kartik Krishnaiyer 🇺🇦🌻⚽️ (@kkfla737) November 15, 2015 This is like saying, if only MLS-II teams were allowed in the tournament, then next year Bethlehem Steel could vie for their 6th Open Cup title.
I'm also guessing if the RedBulls/Metros played in division 2 they would also have some championships.
